my daughters got vaccines + flu vaccine today to. My middle daughter went first while the youngest was in the bathroom. She screamed holy terror. The youngest came running with her pants around her ankles to help her sister. Saw what was happening to her, and ran and hid. We found her a short time later in the filing cabinet, bottom shelf. She fought like a banshee to not go in that room. Had no problem telling the nurse how much she hated her!
Hope you feel better soon, a lolipop and sticker worked well for my girls at the time, but they are complaining again tonight.

eeewww yucky shots :(
I never used to be wary of needles or anything, but after the 3 surgeries I had in 2 years I run like heck the other way. I was glad to be working from home the day they were pushing flu shots at my work ;)
Hope your arm feels better soon....

Sorry to hear that! I'll share but you won't like my story. I had my flu shot a week or two ago. Only thing I noticed afterwards was when I found the bandaid during my next shower. I had forgotten about it and never even had a bruise. Told you that you wouldn't like it! :)

I don't know my arm usually doesn't swell up or bruise, but I've been having some "fatigue" muscles lately. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
she: That is hillarious. Thanks for sharing that story, I can just picture it as you told the story! LOL. And that's NOT fair, I didn't get a lollipop! HOW RUDE!
Star: I hate shots too, but with my job I'm better off getting the shots now then getting REAL sick later! But I know your thoughts..

I actually don't mind then to much. I haven't really had one in a while though... oh wait they injected dye in my arm for the MRI a few months ago

Never had a flu shot. lol
Oh wait I take that back I had one last yar because the doctor kept insisting since I was getting other injections that day. Didn't feel it and didn't have so much as a bruise.
Now the Gardisil injections...*shudder* I love that they make you wait atleast 15 mins in the waiting room after that one to make sure you don't pass out. lol

Ouch! My flu shots have never hurt (lol), but the Tetanus shot sure as heck does! For like a week! I've never had a bruise from a shot, though. Ugh!
edit: Good grief! Are you sure it wasn't something with the stick and not the vax itself? Bless your heart...

The Flu medicine in the shot wouldn't have done that. Whoever gave it must have hit a blood vessell and it leaked out under the skin. It is the same thing as a bruise and hurts like one, but it will slowly reabsorb and fade like one, too. It does happen, but not that much. You need to Ice it to try to keep it from spreading worse.
Hope it feels better soon.

You know, when I was in the Army, they MADE us get flu shots, and every year I would STILL get the flu...bad. Since I got out in 1988, and I have not gotten a flu shot...and I have had the flu ONE time since........

OUCH! I hate to hear that, but you must've just got a bad stick coz I've never had one do that. HaveFaith gave me mine last week and other than hurting when it went in, I never even knew I had one. Hope it feels better soon!

I'm debating on whether to get the flu shot or not. I've never got one before but I've had severe bronchitius (on verge of pneumonia) 4 times in the last 24 months. So I'm wondering if getting the flu shot will help as a preventive maybe?
My daughter had the gardasil (sp) shots. She said the first one was nothing. 2nd one was a bit worse but the 3rd one was painful and left her arm sore for days.

I'm not sure I'll continue to get the flu shot....I don't like the fact that it contains mercury....
And this year I got terribly sick after I got the shot, it just came on all of a sudden a few hours after I got the shot, I left work feeling a little ill, and by the time I got home I was literally sitting on the bathroom floor, sick as a dog....it may have been the stomach flu, but I'm leery of the shot now....and I sure don't like the mercury in it.....

People like you, who have chronic respiratory problems, are the ones that need the flu shot the most, along with the Pneumonia vaccine. I think the Pnuemonia vaccine is good for like 5 years or so.
