It's been so cool in Ohio! We had almost no mosquitos this year. I split my work day in two today (I love being able to do that)--morning and evening, and went for a ride at lunch time--trailered to my favorite park with great woods and paths along the water. It was about 65 degrees, it was sunny, and the leaves are just starting to change. It was just so peaceful, it was a really great ride! I've got to back to work now, but what an afternoon!

How's everyone else's fall going? Leaves changing colors? Getting some nice bug-less rides in?

Arrow's all plush and furry like a teddy bear, too.

I love fall--the best riding of the year!

Wet! I'm having to clean stalls again because the horses have been hunkering in the barn.

Hi, Arrow! Nice to see you here!

Fall here has been rainy. The leaves are about 3/4 at their peak, and even though we had a good freeze about a week ago, the grass is still green.

There are still a few flies roaming around, but I haven't seen hardly any mosquitoes all summer- I guess the grackles are good for something, lol!

Fall is fabulous here! We rode all weekend with temps in the upper 70's and everything is still green with just a tinge of color beginning. Our horses are getting furry, especially Rosie. She gets fuzzy as a buffalo in the winter. LOL

Hi Arrow! The bugs are still around here but I have been able to squeeze a nice ride in every now and then. And the weather seems to be cooling down here a bit surprisingly! It was supposed to be kinda hot here today but it turned out to be really nice! :)

Hi, everyone! Fall can be very rainy in Ohio, but last fall (my first with Arrow) was dry, and so far it's been pretty dry this year, too. I just love fall leaves--perhaps my favorite thing in the whole wide world, after family, friends, and pets.

Hey good to see ya here! We still have flies hanging out but I think after this week they should be gone. It's supposed to be 48 degrees as a high!! Burr!
We had a lot of rain last week but it's drying out now and all the leaves are falling

Hi Arrow. Fall is also my favorite time of year for just about everything. I love the changing leaves and the weather is less humid here in the subs of Atlanta. I am loving riding this time of year. I got Buck last November so I didn't have him in the early fall.

What a great day ...to be able to go out and take a ride and then back to work. Pictures next time. okay?

Hey Arrow. It has been pretty warm(for the temperatures we've been getting!)-- in the mid 50's to the mid 60's. Seems like the leaves changing, the animals getting their winter coats, and the drop in temperatures happened to quick.

We've been riding a lot though even with such cool temperatures. All I can say is I can't wait for winter to be over and a dry Spring to get here!

I was looking at my horse journal, and during the first week of October last year--80s, humid, mosquitos! What a huge change!

I'll get some pics soon! Anyone else have some fall pics?

This is something I really love about the forum. I get to hear about people and their horses from other parts of the country. I live in AL so we never have to deal with snow, we really don't even ever have to blanket our horses (though we like to spoil them and do)!

Right now it's still in the low 80s durring the days and mid 50's at night. So I still sweat while riding and can still hose/bathe the horse, but I freeze at night at work! But it's finally cool enough that Fiddler is not soaked head to toe in sweat all day!

Hey WB are you guys getting the upper 60's lower 70's weather this weekend too? We've had very cool rainy weather and now it's going to be a super nice weekend before more rain again next week.

Fall is going pretty good. It's always tough this time of year to be working outside for work. Rain, wind, cold. Ugh.

Crazy fishermen.

Here in upstate NY the leaves are just starting to change. Temps are in the middle 60's durring the day and drop to low 40's at night all week and no rain. Still no frost and farmers are still cutting hay. This is one of my favorite times to ride in the woods & medows. I road Sat. & Sun. Saw wild turkeys, 8 of them.

We are skipping fall I guess and going right to winter. The mornings are frosty and COLD. It was in the 20's yesterday a.m., 30 today. Saturday was a beautiful day one of the few without rain. It was in the 60's so I worked the boys some. The flys were awful though. We actually had snow last Friday. It didn't stick but we had snow. We have rain a few times a week, the boys are always covered in mud.

With the miserable summer we had I was hoping to have a nice fall. I don't think it'll happen. The leaves are changing sooner than usual and it's colder than usual this time of year. I hope we'll get some nice 60 degree days for riding before the snow comes.

NW Pennsylvania sounds just like your part of the woods, Arrow. A couple days of rain but other than that--just beautiful. I noticed that we didn't have any mosquitoes either. The flies, however, still here. Of course, as I post this, it looks like it's going to rain today.

Yes--it's raining here now, but it's only supposed to rain for a day. I'm in NE Ohio, so I suppose we're seeing similar weather!

It is fun when the horse are plush, isn't it? Their winter coats are fully grown in yet, and they're just like plush toys.

Yes, I love fall too and right now is a good time, no hunting. The leaves are just starting to turn here. I also like it once the trees are leave less. You can see so much further.
