So Niko got his trace clip today, I didn't really expect him to be this light under all that dark chestnut hair. So hopefully it will grow back that dark chestnut and I didn't ruin him :eek: lol. So here is before and afters:

Aw! I think it's cute! :D I was thinking about clipping Blue, but he doesn't have much of a coat anyway so I might not.

Zoe, he was that dark color in the summer too but when you clip them it is way lighter.

He's so cute. That looks about typical for a haflinger clip since their winter coats come in darker than their summer ones. LOL - looks like little racing stripes.

All I can say is in that first picture he is looks so great! It looks like he naturally moves like a dressage horse. Is that what you do with him? I love his clip too. We used to do that cut on the friesians at our dressage barn. They always look so funny and cute. Never dignified like the thoroughbreds. I like it! :)

He looks great. Bay's hair is the same way. Light at the roots and dark at the tips. That's what makes them look a little bronzy in the sun, that multi-dimensional color. You didn't ruin him :)
