It was cold at the barn today! Photos!

Next time I go out to the barn I guess I better get out the winter boots and winter coat!
I thought I'd be warm enough, but that wind was biting cold, so I didn't do much today with Ness, other than take a few quick photos of her out in the pasture. The barn is about halfway from being finished, so once it's done we can stay warm in there this winter and I can stay out there longer. Last couple pics are kind of blurry, I took the pic of the barn as I was leaving in my car....lol. It was hard taking pics with my gloves on, I didn't want to take them off. I didn't think it was that bad out this morning, but the wind changed and is now coming from the north, so the temps dropped this afternoon.

Very Pretty! She looks like she's getting fuzzy, I love them when they get fuzzy. Mine are muddy fuzzy!

That is quite the building they are building, if it's an indoor arena that will be great to ride all winter, even though they can be cold inside if not heated it's still nice to ride when it's sleeting out! Our barn is getting a new heater, I can't wait since sometimes it seems the arena is colder inside than it is outside but it's still nice to ride without getting soaking wet.

Yeah, she's really a fuzzy wuzzy now....lol. The barn will sure be nice, the indoor arena will be great when the weather is bad, it's going to be a small indoor arena, but plenty big enough for riding and anything else you want to do, the front portion will have a few stalls. It won't be heated, it gets so cold here that if the barn is heated it's about impossible to put the horses back outside if you worked them because they get too warm with all the winter hair they've got and a heated barn gets them warmer yet, and quite often the temps here are single digits or below zero.....all the horses are pasture board horses (they aren't going to offer box stall board), so it wouldn't work if they got sweaty and had to be turned outside. The south side of the barn is actually going to be open I guess....so there will be good ventilation for the hot summer months.

And it looks lieka really nice, picturesque place ^_^ I do like American barns, when they've got the good ventilation.

Btw, have they said anything about when the shelters are going to get started? If they don't get the posts in pretty soon, it's not going to happen, lol!

I asked them today about the shelters.....I guess the construction guys were supposed to do the shelters first, but they didn't for some reason.....hopefully they'll get at the shelters soon, it's getting nasty out now.....
but, today the gal I talked to wasn't sure when the construction guys were going to start the shelters. I sure hope it is soon.

Thanks, she is such a sweet and friendly horse, she always walks up to greet me and is so mellow.
I'll be glad when the barn is done so I can do more with her, right now it's so chilly outside with that wind, we've had a lot of snowy/rainy, windy days lately.

She's such a cutie hmmm I remember why I moved away from Chicago now LOL COLD and wind ;) I can't even imagine not having a barn to go into during the winters up there! It looks like it will be a really nice place when they are done.

Ness is looking great -- fluffy is right! She'll be glad she's a fuzzy wuzzy when winter gets here.

They sure are coming along quickly with the barn/indoor arena! It's going to be so nice. On a cold day when the sun is shining, it's warmer to be outside. But when that cold wind is blowing, and it's snowing or raining, you'll love having that nice indoor arena!
