SPOKANE —
The FBI is searching for the person connected to a possible attempted bombing in Spokane. The bomb was found along the Martin Luther King parade route. The bomb could have caused multiple deaths if it had exploded says the FBI.

The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for placing the backpack on a bench.

At approximately 9:25 a.m. Monday, a suspicious backpack was discovered on a bench at the southeast corner of N. Washington Street and W. Main Avenue in downtown Spokane.

The Spokane Explosives Disposal Unit was notified and safely neutralized the device.

During the investigation, it revealed the backpack contained a potentially deadly destructive device, likely capable of inflicting multiple casualties.

The FBI is seeking any information regarding the identity of the person or persons that may have been seen with the backpack from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. Monday.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are requested to immediately contact the FBI.

Additional details that I've read at other sources:

-- the bomb was real.
-- It was a pipe-bomb, with a radio detonator.
-- It was designed to be detonated remotely with a short-range radio, like a garage door opener or a car door opener.
-- It was packed with additional shrapnel (not described, but commonly things like nails and ball bearings are used for that stuff) in order to do maximum antipersonnel damage.

Any comments from Timothy McVeigh? or what about Jared Lochner? Eric Robert Rudolph, perhaps? Any comments from these guys or any of their ilk?

Well.... McVeigh is dead.... Jared's in jail. So's Rudolf.

So I don't think any of them did it.

But it's all speculation at this point :)

What about Sarah Palin? Where was she at the time? It must be her fault because... well, it just has to be!

RD asked for comments--Jared and Rudolf could comment, couldn't they?

Yes, I suppose they could. :p

I'll let you know if I hear anything.

The first thing that I think is, Martin Luther King holiday parade...Aryan Nations...Hayden Lake...even though the compound at Hayden Lake has long been abandonded and owned now by private citizens. I'm not sure how active the white supremist types are around the Spokane-Couer'delene area anymore. Just a thought.

That's probably a speculation worth considering cgup.

I had the same first response.

What's their "ilk"?

I think you're bright enough to figure that out on your own.

No, I'm really interested in what you think those three have in common.

Well, two of the three of them planted bombs. That's what they have in common. So they might have something in common with whoever planted this bomb, same as some folks who worship at mosques or synagogues or churches (if they favor the planting of bombs) might have in common with whoever this is. Their ilk are people who plant bombs.

No word on comment from area mosques.

Many Black Americans of that day were turning to the Muslim faith, so a bomb planted at a Martin Luther King parade, could be followed up with threats, or something, toward the area mosques?

Uh... not exacty where I was going with that. :)

It's inescapable, of course, that this may be the work of some whacko supremecist given the history of the area. But it's also entirely possible that it's somebody else. Could be a whacked muslim. Could also be, and is perhaps even likelier, that it's a false flag op. I would take a hard look at the various black activist groups in the area. Much of the time, especially over the last couple of decades, when there's a cross-burning in somebody's yard, or racist graffiti, or a "noose" on a college campus... it's turned out to have been a hoax done by the "victims" themselves.

Anybody planning this thing would have to know that it's just not wise to leave an unattended bag right out in the open on a bench for hours like that. It's far too likely that it will be noticed and reported. Not a good plan. Unless, of course, that was the plan all along.
