It really hasn't been snowing out but this is an update of how much we have in Alaska...so far. It's been a little chilly but right now it's 15 degrees out so I can't complain  (pictures were taken today) I'm gonna try to get some snow horsies later this week, if it's a reasonable temperature out:rolleyes:
I haven't gotten the hang of posting pictures yet...

That's beautiful!! :)
Wow, is 15 degrees warm for you, considering what it gets to sometimes?
I know each state has there own degree comparisions. Like for us we are freezing cold at 25 or 30 degrees but 60 or 70 is warm and perfect for shorts and tank tops (given the humidity is higher and the wind not blowing). LOL

Reasonable temperature is all relative :)

Thanks Everyone! Well, we don't really have a "normal" temperature. We get such a variety of temps here. If we're really really lucky it can get up to 30 degrees in the winter but rarely. And we can get down to -60. Usually January is the coldest for us but every year is different.

its been chilly here lately, had some sideways snow the other night. Other than a decent snow storm and cold spell
in october it has been very warm so far this fall

The horses do fine in it....we don't blanket them unless it's about -15, that way they grow out their coat faster. We get the heaviest balnkets and they have a shed in their pasture.

Do you get to do any winter riding? I love to ride in the cold...but not quite that cold!

I barely get to ride in the winter, mostly because of the temperature but also if there is a bunch of ice on the ground(usually there is). I probably ride less than 10 times the entire winter. When I do ride it's no colder than -10 and just walking. Some people in the area have an indoor arena(not heated though) but it's still a nice luxury to have here considering the snow and ice on the ground.
