Well after Niko got his haircut:p I hauled him over to my best friends house to ride. We just worked on paying attention in a new place and our basic dressage stuff. My mom took some pictures so gots lots to share!!:)

And last but not least... his MEGA TROT!!! He seriously could out trot anything.
He looks very much like an Icelandic not a Haflinger lol. I don't know why I was riding with one hand... lol.

Beautiful pics! I love seeing haffies move - they can be very surprising in how great they look.

Toby gets this wonderful little trot going that is as smooth as butter to ride, but then when he decides to do his working trot - hold on! Not fun to ride at all. LOL.

Haha Caitlin, I know! I can't believe he has grown that much! His mane has grown 7-8 inches since June!!

Thanks Cat!! Niko's working trot is actually easy to sit but you get that mega trot and you almost fall off from laughter lol

Thanks Mandzanita! I was shocked when I saw the pictures of us cantering, my position felt horrible but in the pictures it looks pretty good! Yes, Malik is HUGE!! 16.3hh!! Luckily he is a Thoroughbred so he doesn't take up much leg. I rode him today too but guess mom didn't get pictures of that. He's a 2nd-3rd level dressage schoolmaster, her dream horse. She couldn't get him in his right canter lead, he just kept trying to lengthen his trot so she wanted me to try. It was fun!! I actually got him into fairly easy once I figured out why he kepts lengthening.

I know that they are built much differently. But Niko is not big and chunky.
I wasn't saying that he is built like an Icelandic but his trot reminded me of one

Annasmom: It is a Duett Largo Dressage saddle, they are made for wide back horses. It has a 36 cm tree. I love it!!

Thanks Kitty!! He does have big horse movement. He's actually not that small lol, he's 14.2hh so he is horse sized but I still call him my pony. He has only cantered a few times with me on him, he was started under saddle in June by me.
