I found this interesting-3yr old named a goddess

I found this article very interesting.
It's about a 3yr old girl being named a "living goddess" in Nepal.
I was curious to everyone else take on this.

That's kind of strange, I've never heard of anything like that before, but I guess all countries have different rituals and stuff...

The thing about sleeping with animal heads kind of creeped me out...I wouldn't want to be that girl.

Very strange, but I guess that is a different culture. Sad though that on top of being taken away from her family she will then have problems finding a husband due to their legend of the husband dying young. Seems this "blessing" is almost a curse.

I just saw this too, on my Yahoo home page... I think it's extremely sad, but then again it is a totally different culture; to them it's probably no different that us putting our babies to bed in a separate room from us. In some countries that's considered neglect.
