That's what I figure.

But to address his point... I don't think "shutting down the government" is the best way to solve the budget issue. Go forward with the mess we have and stay with the principles of reducing spending. Make those tough cuts.

I'm afraid that all legislators who are in favor of reducing the budget (of both parties, though the majority talking it are Republican) will support the non-funding option and then throw their political hands in the air and say "We tried! But group "a" and legislators "b, c, and d got in the way," and it will come to nothing.

Mare, you just made the case for not raising the debt limit. Just like the border and the "pathway to citizenship" for illegal immigrants, do the hard, politically risky thing first. Cut spending first, secure the border first.

Have you ever noticed that the right thing always seems to be harder to do than the wrong thing? Just an observation.
