View Full Version : I know you're not allowed to be "right" on DU...

OK so this morning I decided to sign up on DU.
I wasn't even really going to troll over there... I just got bugged by a mistake I see them make over there all the time, in their discussions of the word "entitlement".
Posted first here....
Why Does President Obama Repeatedly Blame Entitlements? - Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x372258)
...way down the thread I posted as "Just sayin is all".
And copied the same post here:
How about instead of entitlements, social well-being - Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x372708)
Went out to clean stalls and came back and I'm banned there.
I'm right on this. Entitlements are not welfare and no one should say they are. It means people are entitled to them.

You were so bad.;)
Wow, that site is something else. A good look into liberals minds. I really liked the plotting, renaming & projecting of a certain image they try to maintain.
I don't understand why you were banned though? You didn't offer a differing opinion that I could see. What exactly didn't they like?:headscratch:

Well I haven't gotten to your post yet, but your first mistake was reading anything beyond this point. :)
"I am nauseated that he has bought this right wing nonsense about the deficit...who effin cares?"
That's a ridiculous statement regardless of one's political views.

It is funny to read DU, where they think Obama is a major right-wing sellout.
It's all about perspective, isn't it? :D

That's what I didn't get. I wasn't planning on misbehaving. Just maybe try to comment here and there where I thought I could stay within their rules.
I mean... I wasn't going to post a "Happy Birthday Ronald Reagan" thread or anything :)

No - we were busy getting Thelma Lou... didn't watch the game or any of the festivities.

I don't quite understand. I can't see where they flamed you or that you are banned.

It doesn't say I'm banned, but when I try to post is says my posting privileges have been revoked.

Now there's another spin-off thread where they get it almost exactly wrong.
Does she really thing this sounds "better"? Let's be Democrats and call them "social programs"...not "ENTITLEMENTS" - Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x374390)

Unbelievable! They clearly don't want to hear any differing opinions, do they? Their loss.
I'd even have to give Rush Limbaugh more credit than that, and that's saying a lot coming from me! I don't care much for him - at all.
Well, they should have welcomed your POV. And you made a very good point about entitlements. Anyone who doesn't accept that they are the biggest fiscal challenge facing the US over the next several decades just doesn't get it.
You're too funny, WB.
I read a couple threads on that site, and as much as I wanted to ask questions, I saw enough to know even a question wouldn't be tolerated.
I really don't know what the point of the site is if you can't get information on Democratic/liberal views. It must just be an echo chamber.

Like this place would be if Remali and I weren't still willing to play with you jackwagons once in awhile. :p:p:hysterical::hysterical:

Like this place ~was~ for a while until you showed up. :)
Not to overly pick on liberals (of course I'd never do that...) but none of the others around here seemed to have the courage of their convictions to stick around and actually defend their positions, once some conservatives showed up.
I'm sure I speak for most everybody when I say that I'm glad you participate here, Jackie... even if I yell at you from time to time. I wish more of our liberal folk would stick up for their beliefs like you do. :)
An echo chamber is no fun.

I appreciate that very much, RD. I know that you (conservatives) respect my positions. Thank you.

Just an honest question, but why do you go on liberal forum if you're not liberal? That's like someone coming on our horse forum talking about how much they don't like horses. It doesn't make sense to me.

Same reason I browse liberal sites: Know thine enemy. Get behind enemy lines and gather actionable intel. :-)

I think our biggest fiscal challenges are the wages and pensions of the people who are employed by the entitlement programs.
This thread defines the difference between conservative minds and liberal minds pretty efficiently, doesn't it?

Fun... No point in only talking to those you agree with!
I read that site all the time, and always want to chime in and say something... I wasn't going to be a disruptive troll or anything, just bring up what I thought were reasonable points within their rules... Not bring them all the way to the right, but perhaps at least to reality and reason :D

Why go on a site like that?? Cheap entertainment.
Wb- can you imagine if you moderated here like they did there??? There would be a ton of us "revoked".
I have to say I commend you for reading it, I got down quite a way and just got tired of what I was reading.
