View Full Version : This isn't good... *Health issues with me*

I'm a 15 year old kid... I shouldn't have these problems, right? I have pre-diabetes (runs on both sides of the family), I have to have a nutritionist, I take about 10-15 pills a day (yes vitamins are mixed in there), and now I'm having these problems.

For the past two or three months, in the morning I'd get random stomach aches and headaches, and feel nauseous. I think my parents figured I just wasn't wanting to go to school, because it'd happen at random times and would only last a few hours.

So it happened on Thursday, and I finally told my mom to call the doctor.

We went in for an appointment, and he asked me all of the procedure questions, trying to figure out what's wrong. Then he handed me a hospital gown, and I was freaking out on the inside, lol. I don't like going to the doctor for this reason. I prefer to keep my clothes on at all times.

He ended up testing where my muscles were sensitive, which they were everywhere. He figures that's one of the factors causing my headaches. Then he had to do something else [I won't say but some people might know what I'm talking about]. Let's just say I felt VERY violated after, it was disgusting. I didn't think a stomach ache and headache would call for that kind of thing... Lol.

So it was all over and we talked about some medicines, etc.

Then he wanted me to get blood tests done... Lucky me I had all day and the place where they do the blood tests is in the same building. I told my mom I didn't want to do it that day, but I really needed to. I started listening to the music on my iPhone to distract me, wasn't working. She took three tubes of blood, and a much bigger needle than I am used to was used, lol.

So the next day I went to school (Friday), and ended up having to leave early because my back was cramping up and my stomach was killing me.

This weekend I've been on prescribed migraine medicine, the headaches have been bad.

I'm getting an ultrasound sometime this week to check for ulcers as well.

We don't know what's wrong yet but I hope it's nothing bad. I know it's more serious than what I was thinking though, that's for sure.

Prayers and thoughts would be appreciated.

Hope you'll be feeling better and what you have is very easy to fix. I have a nervous stomach, if I get nervous I get a real upset stomach, it's awful since I never know what will set it off, it goes as fast as it comes. I hope what you have will be a simple fix. Take care.

Aw, I'm so sorry all of this is happening to you now. I hate doctor visits too, luckily I've got a female doctor so it's as weird but still feels violating. I really hope that everything turns out good for you and that you'll be feeling better soon, all of this pain can't be fun for you!

Best wishes and I'll keep on checking by to see the updates :)

Im sorry Casperluff, I hope things end up working out for you. I dont like doctors much myself, They seem to forget we aren't in the medical proffesion and have a sense of modesty. Fortunately pre-diabetes can be reversed, just follow your nutritionist and goodluck!

I am so sorry you have to go thru all of this at such a young age.....I was diagnosed with ulcers when I was 12.

I was scared to death. I had a hard time going to the doctor, at first, but it got better after awhile, my mom was great and she came with me and talked me thru all the tests, and I liked our doctor so that helped too. I did OK, altho I ended up quitting high school when my ulcers go worse when I was 16.

I found that my own imagination was worse than the actual tests....once I had the tests I realized they weren't so bad after all. Ultrasounds aren't bad at all, so don't worry too much about that. I had x-rays too, for my stomach (and upper GI they call it), and that went OK too.

It's a good idea to get the tests done, there are meds out there that can really help you feel so much better.
Let us know how you're doing and what the doctor finds out.

I'm so sorry you have to go through all this - I can only hope that they find the problem promptly and it is an easy one to fix once they know.

My nephew got very sick a couple years ago (I think he was 12) and it took the Doctors a VERY long time to diagnose him. The family was starting to get concerned that he would die, his symptoms were so bad (severe vomiting, nausea, couldn't eat, etc) for so many months. He grew skeletal thin and was wasting away before our eyes and the Drs had NO idea what was going on. I think it took them something like 6 months to figure out that he had Crohn's Disease, but once they finally did they were able to finally stabilize him. He is doing very well now!

Awe, Casper, that is rough!:( I'm sorry you're going through all this. I would have been freaking out at the doctor's too, they make me SO nervous. In fact, they are convinced that I have high blood pressure:rolleyes: because everytime I'm there I'm freaked out so it sky rockets, but it's not true- I don't really have high blood pressure (except when I'm in their office:innocent:). The farther away I stay from anyone in the medical proffesion, the better off I am. It doesn't help that I don't have a regurlar doctor either (there are four who work in this particular office so you never know who you're getting) and the two female ones there are not all that nice. And I definately don't want a guy!

I hope they figure out what is wrong soon and fix it. If you need to talk we're here for you. I know we've never talked much, but if you need a friend and want to chat, my AIM screen name is dakota2907. Of course that's on my profile so you could have figured that out yourself, hehe.

well I wrote you this long response but my computer at work decided to be annoying and freeze and kill the internet. So to make it short and sweet. I hope you feel better! I know what its like to go to Doctor after Doctor and none of them know whats going on and all you know is is that it is REAL pain and you just want them to figure everything out. Good luck and keep us posted!
