I love to just look around at the different tack sites and such..and I'm looking at horse boots.

I obviously know what shipping boots are for, but what are all the others for? There's combo boots, 2 in 1 boots, this boot that boot.

What boots are used for what discipline?

Thanks!

The neoprene and velcro boots like Sports Medicine Boots (SMB) provide protection (like if a horse hits its leg with one of its hooves) and support for ligaments, tendons, and so on. They are used for athletic events such as barrel racing, but any horse can wear them. They aren't boots quite like we think of human boots since they don't cover the foot (hoof) at all.

EasyBoots, Old Macs, Boas, and boots like that cover the hoof and protect it on rough and sharp terrain like jagged rocks. These are usually used in place of horse shoes.
