View Full Version : I just bought my first horse

So at 7 o clock today I bought my first horse.
her name is Naturally Surpassing AKA Tootsie [might change it. name suggestions?]
Shes 4 years old.AQHA. 15.2 hands shes classified as a brown, but looks most like a bay. Shes a really sweet horse and loves to be worked and to get attention.
She excels at Huntseat and just has the most amazing Jog.
Not a Morgan. Not the pony everyone pictured me with but I think we will make a good team.

Its Christmas in October for me.

Im so happy to finally have a horse thats mine
and Kzeiger I know what you mean about being nervous I went back and forth on it for 5 months before I decided she was worth it.

I will be showing her, definetly going to show her 4-H and perhaps show her novice/youth division AQHA if we are ready.

I love your pictures. I remember how it feels to stand there and look at your horse and thinking..."wow, Do I really have a horse?"....because it was just 11 months ago when I got my first horse.

Congrats. She is really a beauty. What type of riding do you do?

I just cant stop looking at pictures of her thinking this is myy horse. lol
Hunter under Saddle is probably going to be our best class, she has such a bigg trot.

and ImaBronsonBear its funny you mention her head. I had several people tell me she looked like a mule in the face. but I think shes cute

Mmmm, not from the pictures i've seen. She's got a head that reminds me of another horse i've ridden; I think she has a very cute head.:) And since you're the owner and think so too, it doesn't matter one speck what other people may think.;)

Welcome to the roller coaster ride that is horse ownership, from now on you join that breed of women who pass by a shoe shop but can spend hours in a tackshop, whose largest part of their wardrobe is well worn jeans and who will put off a haircut or colour in favour of a new rug.

You are going to have so much fun!....nice horse you have there enjoy!

Congratulations! There is nothing like the feeling of your first horse. I remember every single detail of when I got mine. She's very pretty!

:hysterical: You have no idea what you will be missing sheath cleaning creates such a special bond with your horse....my old gelding used to grunt like a porn star
