South Carolina is a right to work state.
"The NLRB on Wednesday said Boeing had violated federal labor law when it decided to open a second assembly line for its 787 Dreamliner (http://www.foxbusiness.com/topics/industries/transportation/boeing-787-dreamliner.htm) airplanes in a non-union plant in South Carolina rather than in a union factory near its headquarters outside Seattle."

The lawyers involved are happy.
"Boeing said it will go forward with its South Carolina plans while it fights the NLRB complaint."

Do any of you feel comfortable with a business in the United States being told where it can build it's factory?

Apologies to seinfeld...

"We're moving"
"Why?"
"Spite."
"You can't move for spite"
"OK, then we just want to move"
"You already said spite".

Interesting. It reads to me that Boeing can't allow 'union strikes' to interupt production. Union strikes is the "arm bending" demands of the employee to the employer, "we'll stop production, we'll walk off, we will be protected by our union and keep our jobs and you will give us our (what ever they are wanting) before we lift another finger.

So it sounds like Boeing is starting another plant in a 'less controversial' state, right to work no union bullying. They aren't closing the WA plant. At least they are building in the USA.

From First Article:

In a statement, the NLRB said that and similar statements by company executives were “coercive to employees” and “motivated by a desire to retaliate for past strikes and chill future strike activity.” Consequently, Boeing’s actions were illegal, according to the complaint.

So...it's okay for the employees to refuse to work until their vacation time and other benefits are agreed on, costing the company a lot of time and money to the point that it's fed up and wants to start over, but it's not okay for the company to build a new factory and help the economy in a different state because it makes the workers realize how replacable they really are?

There's a break in logic there. I can't seem to pinpoint what it's called, but something ain't right. :headscratch:

I say way to go, Boeing, get some more jobs in the US. Keep 'em here, please!
