Hey what browser do you guys use/recommend?

Windows
Mozilla
Firefox

What are the pros and cons?

I'm starting to wonder if windows isn't so good anymore but the last time I tried to use mozilla I had a problem with using forums.

I use the internet... because it comes on the computer already installed, and I am in no way computer savvy. :D

A lot of people I know use firefox and really seem to like it... if that helps. :)

I'm sure most people already know this but a big con and the reason why I stopped using Internet Explorer is because you can get tons of spyware from it.

Right now, I use Avant Browser, it's much like Mozilla Firefox with the same pros and cons really. I was using Firefox for a while but then it started mysteriously wiping out my bookmarks every few weeks. I could find a solution and it was really aggravating considering how much I love my bookmarks! So I then went on a search to find a new browser and Avant was the next best thing, I love it.

ETA - most browsers have this now but I absolutely love tabs!! No more 5+ windows of the same browser up anymore!

yeah IE is just crashing more and more.

So those using firefox - no issues with the forums??

I think I'll go give it a whirl again.

I like Firefox. No issues with the forums. I think earlier versions did. Now, I think Firefox displays a lot of sites more correctly than IE does.

But I don't know if I would like Firefox if I didn't have my hubby to find and install all the add-ons and features I like. :) I don't like messing with my browser, I just want it to work.

I am having to redo all my passwords and deal with plug ins. There must be an automatic spell check on this thing... when I spell a word wrong it's highlighted like in Microsoft Word. That's pretty cool.

FireFox user here too. Have been for years, actually I think I used the Beta version when it first started.

I have a few sites I still have to use IE on, but other then that I don't use IE at all, I can't stand it one bit.

I've been using Firefox for many years... since about version 0.6, back when it was called Mozilla Firebird.

I only use IE for testing and troubleshooting sites for work, and for a few java-heavy multimedia sites.

Another Firefox user...been using it since Netscape went away. If I'm on the Mac, I use Safari.

The only reason why I keep IE on the computer is to troubleshoot some sites when I'm working on them...

Haha! I once had a firebird email account...gosh that was so long ago. The days of Beta LOL

well, i was going to say Mozilla and Firefox are one in the same.

I use 3. Firefox, IE, and Google Chrome

Firefox is my main stay. To many aspects of it that i enjoy for me to give it up.
IE - use only on sites that don't support FF
Chrome - I am still playing with it. But it is sort of cool. VERY streamlined. And once i get used to it, i may use it more. I miss a few things that i have with FF, but it's a nice browser none the less. It is still a semi beta thing. And they are continuing to tweak it.

The latest versh of Firefox definitely has some nifty tricks. I like Safari...no cookies! Mozilla was always prompting me for cookies or downloads. IE I gave up on aaaages ago.
And I use a PC!

Well I just switched to Firefox too, thanks to this thread. It's a little confusing for me since I've been using Internet Explorer for FOREVER!

Okay, I already have a question. When I was installing it, it said it was transferring my bookmarks from internet explorer, but now when I'm on firefox and click Bookmarks, there isn't anything there.

The computer that we have regular windows on, we use Firefox. IE kept crashing on the regular windows so that's why we switched. My hubby does a LOT of forums with his WOW and has never mentioned having any problems. My hubby uses Moxilla Thunderbird email program that he likes so much better than Outlook Express. He feels its more secure.

The newer computer that has Vista on it, we use IE just because its there and is working with no problems.

So we use both.;)
