Gypsy - what exactly do you want help handling first? A ride? Critter sitting? Car repair?

You all are so fantastic! The car really needs to come first- it's dicey right now even driving it into town- it has almost nothing for heat, and the driver's side rear brake locks up at the drop of a hat. Not to mention the fact that the headlights need replacing- they're so bad that the brights are dimmer than dims!
Needless to say, I was not driving it to town myself, lol! Don't know what Jake thought he could have done if the brake had actually locked up on me out on the highway, but that's neither here nor there now.
We were slowly trying to fix all those little things, but when you have to have the money jsut to buy the parts, and it's not there- well...
The irony of all this is the fact that if it was summer, or if I had acess to a heated garage, a friend and I could fix at least half these problems, lol!
My mother's willing to help, but she has health problems, and is living off her retirement now- she really can't afford too much, I know.
So far as animal sitting- I do have someone that might be able to for a day- I'll have to find out more details on that.
This weekend, I know for a fact I can get a ride out there for the day if I need to- just right now, it's impossible for anybody.

Does your mother or any friend have a car you can borrow - for the next week or two?
I mean... I know fixing your car is important, it's just more complicated to arrange and may take time. I'd like to find some solutions that remove complications from your life, not just add to them.

I can get rides into town right now when I need to- it's just a hassle sometimes.
I understand completely what you're saying, WB, believe me.
Borrowing a vehicke isn't the easiest thing in Mn, when you're required to carry liability inxurance- it all deopends on the person's type of policy- some actually only cover listed drivers, some it doesn't matter.

Well, certainly you'd want to be insured on it.
It could well be that for the long term, we'll help you get the car fixed. Some firm estimates would be good to know.
But I think this is your time to start calling on any and all favors, today, tomorrow, so you can get out of there, and go to the hospital, and really see and find out and ask questions and come to terms with what's going to happen now. Those kind of questions, you really need to ask a doctor face to face. A nurse is not going to give you that kind of big picture over the phone.
And I don't necessarily think you should go alone. Maybe you and your mom could go. Someone else can feed Gypsy. Can that be arranged?

Oh how I wish I had money sometimes. Gypsy Rose I can't offer anything but my prayers and thoughts. Big hugs to you!!! I wish I had more to give. Bless y'all for doing this. It's a very good thing.

Sorry I dropped out of sight for a little bit- I had a few phone calls that came in. I'm going out to feed, and then I'm calling the hopital. I'll update the other thread then.
Right now, my mind is just kind of in a fog- too much to think about. I'm really thankful for everyone's continued support.

Count me in to help too, in any way that I can.
I think that Gypsy Rose has someone who can drive her to see her SO this weekend, so she wouldn't be alone, I believe a friend may be able to drive her....correct me if I am wrong Gypsy Rose.

Where do you live in MN? I'm in MN too. You can PM location if you want it private. I'm just wondering if you're close enough for me to help you. I don't have much time and we're a one car family, but you never know...

You're correct, Remali- I can get a ride this weekend if I need to- I asked the nurse about that this afternoon, and she suggested we wait until he's at least a little bit responsive- she thinks I'll be a lot more help to him then.
PeggySue, I don't know what I'd do without you- you do know that!
SWMS- I'll pm you.
