I have a TB and I like to talk him trail riding. When we get there he is good but when I get on he gos crazy! He will not walk for the first 5 mins! Is there any thing I can do to settle him down?

Only five mins? My Bay, in his youth, would jig and dance the first five miles.
Now he's older and I miss it - or think he's not feeling good if he walks out too slow.
Time and miles. Time and miles. :)
My 4 year old tb rears, trys to bolt, gigs sideways but at shows he's the perfect gentleman. Like WB said, time and miles.
But I doubt I'm that brave to do the time and miles on my tb. haha

Time and miles...but also with some hot horses lunging before riding out can help to take the edge off. Even just warming up in the arena before going out can be good for them.

Yes I would try warming him up first in the ring.
I live in an area where horses MUST be trail safe, Whats up with horses no liking it? I have no experience with that

Hillie can be severely opposed to leaving the pasture at first, once she's out she can either be a total cow and nap and bolt, or go quietly and nicely, depending on the day of the week, if there's an r in the month...:p
Each to their own, I suppose!
