Haha, just like the title indicates, the easyboot epics are awesome! :D I did have some trouble getting them on, but she was so cooperative it was amazing. I had to kneel down and put her leg on my knee so I could use both hands to pull/twist/wiggle them on and she just stood there. What a good girl! xD

I was worried they wouldn't fit, so I had to be really careful to not get them at all dirty incase I had to return them. So I wrapped saran wrap (sp?) around her hoof and made her stand on cardboard, lol.:p

But they ended up fitting perfectly! Yay! :D

So anyway, I rode her yesterday and she loves her easyboots, lol. She felt awesome, moved freely and energeticly (sp?), and was a total fireball. So basically she was her usual self. I love my crazy poneh! :D

I took her on a trail ride with my neighbor but I schooled her for a little bit in the arena first. I made a video of it, sorry if it's boring- my editing skills are lousy:doh:. My riding was also none to impressive in this vid for some reason either..:( I don't think I usually ride that bad, but... she was being a real handful, lol. Oh, and I know we were on the wrong lead in the canter clip- my bad. I did correct her but I was on the wrong side of the arena at that point so it's not on camera. My legs look kinda fat in this vid too. So ignore all those bad points, lol.:p
On that note, enjoy the video!:p

The trail ride was fun too!:) We had one....minor.... incident:rolleyes: but other then that she was very good. Did I mention that this horse is FAST?:innocent:

A few pics::)

Veddy, veddy nice--I can't think of when I've ever seen 2 horses go down at the same time, roll at the same time, and pop up at the same time! They're in sync!

p.s.--hoof in saran wrap in easy boot on cardboard...well, that's a classic, that's what that is!

GReat to hear you like them! I am wanting to get the Cavallo boots for Dallas for the trails.

Ummmm....yep I really think Beauty needs to slim down a bit! LOL...you went from one extreme to another with her......:) She is still a Beauty though..

I haven't watched the video yet, but the boots look fantastic! Good job. Two things.

-Did you read in the instructions about how you should wrap the velcro strap on the gaiter back over itself if necessary to get the gaiter nice and tight about her pastern?

-I see that you have the cable on the farthest tooth out. Is the clamp snapping down nice and tight like a ski boot? You'll see in the instructions that you can weave the cable around the top a little bit to take slack out of the cable to get a tighter adjustment on the clamp if necessary.

Cool video. So what was the "incident"? :) And could we go back to Classic Rock for a video or two, please? :)

Beauty is sucha cutie! Did you take her off the beet pulp yet? Still looks stiff to me like I mentioned, but maybe I'm hallucinating. I'm glad the booties are helping!

Guess we're back to begging for our good ole classic rock, aren't we! Another vote for that, here!

Dakota- loved the video- that rolling in unison is something else!

I think I see what cloedoll's seeing, but since it's over 2 hours past my bedtime, and I'm not seeing too straight, don't quote me on that!

You are very inventive to use saran wrap and cardboard. Glad she likes her new booties.

Arrow: haha, I couldn't think of anything else to put over her hoof to keep the boot from getting dirty so I stole that from the kitch cuboard!:p The saran wrap and cardboard combo actually worked perfectly tho! lol.:innocent:

As for the rolling, yep! :D They do everything together. They do that all the time, it was just the first time I caught it on video.:)

Country Girl: I almost bought the cavellos for Beauty. If you get them, let me know how they work out, ok?:)

And yes, she is on a diet, hehe. My bad. I swear she just looks at food and gains weight.

JackieB: Yep, I rear the instructions twice before even attempting to put the boots on!:) When I finally got them on I got them really tight by putting it on the third notch and weaving the the wire into that thingy.. you know what I mean. I had to mess with it for a while before I got everything adjust to my liking but it turned out to be a perfect fit! :D It was so tight that I had to use a screw driver to pry the buckle up when I wanted to take them off, lol.

I'll make sure to use classic rock for my next vid.;) Any requests? :D

As for 'the incidident', well.... I don't think I care to share. Might earn myself a lecture, hehe.:innocent: Don't want to get myself in trouble! :D

Caitlin (cloedoll): yep, she's off the beet pulp completely and is getting only a small ammount of grain.:)
As for the stiffness, I have no idea. She felt awesome and was moving freely and energetically (sp?). Also I went back and watched old videos of her from months and months ago, and it seems like her gait is the same even then. So idk.

Gypsy Rose: ok, I can take a hint!:D lol, just kidding. But I do promise to use classic rock for my next vid. Any requests?

steelhorseandrider: hehe, thank you. Everything else I thought of to wrap around her hoof seemed too thick; I wanted to make sure it was a really good fit. :)

I'm glad the Easyboots are working out so well for you. I never thought about saran wrap -- very clever! The boots will get easier to put on/take off the more you use them.

I can't use Epics on my horses; those buckles break too easily on rocky trails. I converted all my Epics to Bares, and they seem to be holding up real well.

Your horse sure is pretty!

That's good! Of course make sure she is still getting the amount of nutrition she needs, but I am sure you already made sure! She could have been stiff back then, too...I dunno she just looks so stiff to me.

I think she'll be good. (: She gets good hay and still a little bit of grain, and she has a mineral salt block, plus there's still *some* grass, so she should be getting all the nutrition she needs.:) But don't worry, I'll keep an eye on her;). Her coat is really shiny and she's happy and sassy, so aside from the extra pounds I think she's a very healthy horse! :D
