I have fish... Right now, just gold fish, but in the past I've had fancy fish from Betas to Angels to Bala sharks and the like.
My fish just came back inside for winter...

30 I think? Not real big. I sure like yours! Someday I'd like to have a big one... As well as a bigger pond outside!

I usually buy live plants when I'm at the Pet store.... but they don't thrive in any tank I've had.
The goldfish like to eat it.

:hysterical:
Goldfish with plants. That's funny
I used to have zebra fish, guppies (zebra fish do an amazing job of preventing guppies from over populating!), beta, cat fish, an algea eater and neons. Now I have none.
My grandpa who got me into fish originally now has a tank like the OPs. He used to have a really cool tank that sat ont he floor and had a built in music box and had kissing fish in it (That is what he called them because they kissed each other - pretty neat. Kept their babies in their mouth too.) Any time it was feed time he would wind that music box up and they would all swim to the top looking for food. He also had a pectomus (Sp?) but not the smooth headed ones you see now adays but one with a bunch of horns coming out of its head. Looked freaky.
My brother-in-law also has a huge salt water tank. I have no idea how he keeps up with the thing, but it is pretty to look at. I could watch his fish all day.

Here's something I did one year that I thought was really fun. Same tank I have back inside now, but one summer I was tired of having it in the house and I put it outside in the yard. I put pollywogs in it, and after they grew up, I got the little gold fish I still have.
I had live plants in it, and this big ole gnarly root thing I found in my back woods.

My current summer "pond" is a big muck bucket that I put in a whiskey barrel. Here it is after I first set it up. I planted summer annuals around the edges of it later, but I'll be darned if I can find another picture that shows it.

WB I love that tank in the garden!!! I would never think to do that but it's pretty cool!!!!!!!! I have Goldfish in my horse tank. . .
And a betta inside. Mr. Darcy. I used to breed Bettas so I'm fairly addicted to them. In college I had about 15 in my little dorm room. Now we just have one. Love the pics of everyones fishies!! Here is the only shot I have of any of mine!

saltwater, it is hard to start at first but once its established its not really that hard, its something you have to research.
We have lots of coral, annenomie (sp), a maroon clown, yellow tang, freaky dasmel, cradinal (with BIG red eyes) and a blue angel.
I love it so relaxing!

I sold our 125 gallon salt water tank in January. I miss the fish (especially my big Clown Trigger- he was my baby) but keeping it clean was so much work.
The larger the tank, the easier it is to maintain the salt levels. We also had a 20 gallon salt tank, and it was difficult to keep the salt levels stable.
Besides the clown trigger, we had a Picasso Trigger, clarks clowns, a Niger Trigger, and a dozen others I'm too tired to remember.
They were very relaxing to watch.

I just downsized from 4 tanks to 3. One 6 gallon eclipse on my desk, one 5 gallon hex, and 36 gallon seaclear. I have 3 male Platy, 2 African dwarf frogs, 1 Peppered corydora (he lost his friend an albino about a year ago), 6 Pygmy cories and maybe about 6 just hatched pygmy corydoras. I keep the 5 gallon hex as a "sick bay."
Would love to attempt a salt water tank someday, wouldn't it be cool to have those mini seahorses?!

I have a 30 gal with lots of guppies :-) There's one bottom feeder that I got off of freecycle at least 2 years ago but I'm not sure what kind of fish he is, long and orange. And I also had a beta in there but he died. A friend has a 150 gal and wants to downsize so we're going to swap tanks! That's a lot of room for guppies! If anyone has ideas on plants or fish for this monster I'd love to hear it. Right now I was just thinking the guppies, bottom feeder and a beta (or two?) plus adding a few more bottom feeders and perhaps some mollies. I like easy fish.
Equine Woman: I have a beta question. I've heard that if your tank is big enough you can have more than one male beta living happily in it. Is 150 big enough?

Huh - I dunno! - when I had two male Betas, I had a divider down the middle of it. It had small holes so water could pass through. They could still see and would posture through it.

I've heard that too! I bet that would be plenty big for two esp. if you have a lot of plants and hidey holes for them to get away from each other. I've only had bettas in my 5 gallon tanks, single of course (well, one did live with a male Platy and the frogs at one time with NO problems).
I sure miss my last one he passed away this past April, he was a yellow crowntail. Before him I had a red, and before him a blue.
