I've never heard of them before today. They're called finger monkeys. Unfortunatly, they're not legal here, but if you live in like Africa, you could own one. They're kinda cute!! :)

I learned about them in anthropology! I learned about so many different monkey breeds and such I thought my head was going to explode lol. Then I went to cultural anthropology and it sucked. Haha.
Is that a full grown monkey in that picture?

Well I'm actually glad they aren't here. Most people don't know how to take care of dogs much less finger monkeys!!! And the same crazy people who buy Tigers and declaw them would own those. They are very cute though.

Those are too cute! We learned a little about them in biology. I'd be terrified I'd step on one (like if I had a very small dog ).
Declawed regular cats are insane - declawed tigers are just as crazy... just on a larger scale. There's a "zoo" near my house that's essentially a sanctuary for illegal animals - like declawed tigers. It's kinda amusing when one escapes (a lion, kangaroo, bison...) - it makes front page news of the local paper. :D

Wow, they escape? We have a very large Exotic Animal Sanctuary just down the road from us and none of them have ever escaped. In fact I'm pretty sure they'd get shut down if they did!!! Yikes!!!
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of declawing. When i was a vet tech the vet I worked for agreed to declaw a Tiger kitten. He video taped the surgery and our groomer (unbeknownst to the Vet) kept walking by the video and saying stuff like "I can't believe you are doing this to that Tiger. Terrible!" and "How can you sleep at night." Cracked me up because I could hear her where I was standing. I always wondered what the vet said to her when he watched the video. But really she was right. I wonder what that Tiger's life has been like since then.
Obviously I don't approve of people owning exotic animals. Cats and dogs, and horses, cows, farm animals, all okay. Things meant to be wild and still wild shouldn't be pets!!
Sorry. Didn't mean to get on my soap box! lol. I'll get down know and let this thread get back to the original topic!
But really - weren't all or our domestics at one point wild animals that just adapted? Granted, there are irresponsible owners out there, but there are also responsible exotic pet owners as well and many exotics when owned by a responsible owner adapt very well. Not to mention most exotic pets are already born in captivity and wouldn't be able to make it out in the wild anymore. Not much different than domestics in that respect.

They don't escape on a regular basis. They have a previously neglected donkey who's buddies with a Bison, a Zebra, and a previously abused horse, who isn't afraid of the super-zap he gets for touching the fence... and he occasionally lets his buds out. About 2 years ago a declawed tiger was being moved from one area to another, and he decided he'd rather romp and took off... but there's a huge fence around the sanctuary so he didn't get out... he just got to go check out the different enclosures from the outside. Just after they opened a kangaroo did basically the same thing. :D
I do agree with Cat, our horses were once wild - some of them quite literally. But it's the quality of the care that matters. I wouldn't own a tiger, but if someone wants to and they can provide good care, then by all means they can go for it. However, as it is with us and our horses, if they get hurt - it is their fault. ;)

What a coincidence, we have a large cat sanctuary about a mile from me too. I often wonder what would happen if they got out.
