Some of the buttons above the message box don't work on my posts. I can't use B I or U. I have tried the shift key, highlighting and the control key with no luck.

What am I not doing right? The rest of the buttons work fine.

Hmmmmm.... they all work fine for us...

Are you in the full WYSIWYG editor (this is a choice in your Options). Not sure that makes a difference, but I'm curious, whether you are displaying the codes, or viewing it 'as is'...

Yes, I just checked. I'm trying to bold, italicize and underline this sentence without success.
Hmmm, bullets aren't working either.

If none of them work, javascript is probably disabled or blocked on your browser. Are you using IE, Firefox, or something else?

When I hit "B" I get [ B ] [ / B ] and then I have to type between the two B's to get my bold. Not sure if this info helps or not - I'm confused on the WYS whatever editor you guys are all talking about. LOL.

Cat... up in the upper right hand corner of the reply box you'll see this http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/images/styles/beige/editor/switchmode.png button.

If you click that, it will toggle between "WYSIWYG" (what you see is what you get) editing and the codes.

If you go into your User CP - Edit Options, and scroll all the way to the bottom, there's an option to have it default to the "Full WYSIWYG editing."

I'll try these other buttons...:) works. nemodav2@aol.com (nemodav2@aol.com) works. A red X shows up when I try to insert an image.

hyperlink looks like it works too.

Post the red x - I may be able to tell a lot about what's failing there.

And look in your browser settings to see if "javascript" is enabled. Might be in tools-options.

Jeepers. Well, keep reporting stuff, it seems to be working just fine for us, I haven't gotten any of those errors.

Can you copy the error message you're getting?

vicklynn

Of course after I told you about it, I havent gotten it once sence.
You know that error message you get if you reply to to mnay posts quickly, thats the one I get. But it was happening after every post, until I posted about it...lol. Weird, just like the auto issue, tell the mechanic and the car runs fine.

I'm going to drive around in IE for awhile, see if I have any trouble...

For now though, it's working OK and loading quickly.

Oh - well never mind this then... I'll go back to Firefox. I thought you were in IE :)

The little AA thingy with the minus sign removes all formatting from whatever is highlighted. It should have a minus sign.

The one on the right toggles between WYSIWYG and codes...

Really, your buttons are working and all? Have you tried just shutting everything down, rebooting, and coming back? Might help just to start fresh if your computer's been on for awhile.

What kind of internet service do you have?

WYSIWYG (pronounced 'wizzy-wig') is short for What You See Is What You Get, which means you see it displayed the way it will in the thread. Bold text is bold, italic text is italics, etc. The button in the top right corner of the editor toggles the WYSIWYG on and off.

When the WYSIWYG is turned off, you instead see the code that makes it display that way:

Ah HA....this has been happening to me....Remember awhile back WB I had pm'd you about this same exact problem....Glad to see I am not the only one.

I am still have the problem and it even put a double post on a thread and I only hit the submit button once.

I know there will always be glitches sometimes....I'm just glad I'm not loosing my mind and not the only one!
NOTE: I just tried to insert a smiley and it wouldn't work.
