:) I know I'm due for pictures!
I'm getting to it (sorry) I know threads are boring without pics haha.

But anyhow I thought I'd give an update. My lesson was awesome tonight it wasn't a "bright smiley.. were so awesome" lesson but it was a learn a lot lesson. But I was more than happy. I told me trainer its time to move to cantering and that I was confident enough for it. (no be informed haha I got anna when she was 4 and just broke and the guy who I bough her from had not cantered much and I basically didn't canter for the first 2years because i didn't know anything haha im more than willing to admit that.) anyway.. so we've acheived collection at the other gaits , and pretty perfect transitions as well as communication and basic lateral skills.

So now we have to canter well it started out interesting , Anna was being a sass. Which rightfully so, she just didn't want to do it she hasn't in about 6 months and she is a bit of a lazy horse. So it was all going ok until she bucked , So my trainer worked with her in the round pen then I got on in the round pen and we cantered and it went very well. The buck didn't bother me , because once I got her respect back it was fine. Anyways I'm happy cause I know we'll get there soon!

One thing my trainer said tonight that I wanted to share she said "you can't see where your going if you drive your boat by its wake." Meaning if you go back and remember what you can't do , and what you have done you can't get to your goal , but instead you have to try things things your not always comfortable to get to where your going.

Thanks for listeining :cowboy:

I'm glad you have a good "learning" lesson! It's always a good thing when you can admit when you don't know it all. Some one once told me (about my current job) that the day you stop learning something new, it's time to quit. I really think you can apply that to just about anything ~ specially horses. I've been around & dealing with horses for 20 years or so & I still to this day learn something just about every day!

Sounds like a good lesson--thanks for sharing your traininer's quote--that's a good thing to remember when you try something new and it didn't go as planned--Keep trudging forward, learning as you go!!!
