Would you use this mare as a broodmare?

Pretty nice. I like the Hollywood Buck, King, and Doc Bar lines. And if you look back in the paint side you've got the Skipper W lines. But pedigree's mean nothing if the horse's conformation is shot... got a pic of her?

Papers look great. How does she go, move, personality, behave.......?

That is what matters.

It depends on how she looks and acts and moves. I wouldn't breed her just based on her pedigree. None of the top horses are her immediate line. All are 3 gens back or more.

For me pedigree is last when I consider a broodmare.....first is disposition, if the mare is cranky or witchy I wouldn't want a foal out of her. And then I look at her conformation and way of going, after that I look at pedigree....but really, pedigree doesn't mean much to me, altho there are a few stallions out there that I'm not really fond of (due to their dispositions) and avoid those particular stallions.

Pedigree means nothing without the conformation.
But it's good... I hope she's very well built.

This is not the horse we are looking at.

I just wanted to know what everyone thought about her bloodlines. She has a GREAT disposition, is beautiful, throws really pretty babies.

Like Doc Tari!! Lol. Every horse that has ever kicked me has been either a daughter of or a grandaughter of Doc Tari!!! My mare Sunny is a granddaughter of his and man is she witchy!! lol. (the other two horse that've kicked me were daughters) I won't own another. Which is unfortunate because they are GORGEOUS horses. Prettiest heads you could ask for on a QH!

I agree. Bloodline should be the minority in the deciding factors in whether to make a mare a broodmare or not (unless of course their bloodlines pass along genetic diseases like HYPP). Conformation, personality and health should be the majority of the decision. The mare's own ability and show record may also play a part.

Bloodlines look decent. I'm not much of a judge for Quarter Horse/Paint bloodlines. I'm only really good for Thoroughbreds.
