Berma and Ickabod

Ok, well, I havn't gotten any recent pics, but I am wanted to post some that I already have, and a video. Berma and Ickabod love each other. They are doing great. Of course its nearly impossible to ride seeing Ickabod won't leave Bermas side. Berma is very calm, and cool. She is a 22 year old arabian. Ickabod is a energetic 8 year old appy. I havn't been having an easy time with him, because of his issues, and if you watch the video you can see what I mean.
Below are some pics and a vid. Video warning--* I know that riding like that is dangerous, because Ickabod gets so excited when she goes fast, but we only did that once, because we wanted to see how she rid,and it was really fun. I tried to trot away from Ickabod, but he was everywhere. Just to let you know we don't do that all the time. Also, no critiques on my riding, lol, I am not an experianced rider, and I am still mastering the trot, so yes, I was like bumpity bump, and I need to work on not slouching, but she is a little hard to trot, lol. Im not the best at western kneck reighning either, but that is what she is used to, so thats why I was. Ok, there is probaly more, but I don't have time to write anymore. So enjoy. and again glad to be back!

Yay pictures!!! Icky is so cute, a pain but cute lol. Berma looks very well behaved and fun to ride!!

Yee Haa!!! :cowboy: Horses are beautiful. I love how Ickabod is running all around. That is exactly what I think Mira would do if I were to ride Buck and let her go too. I am just afraid that Buck would be as well behaved as Berma is being on the video.

=) Yea, lol, she rarely plays with him, or trots around, so when she does, he is like "yay! she is moving" im glad Berma stays calm

I can't get the video to work... :( I hope your Icky comes around. Do you have someone to help you? I have a feeling he has some of the same issues as my mare Sombra. If so, I feel for you. Horses can be intimidating sometimes. And having two horses attached and then trying to ride one is a huge pain! Don't give up and be firm. You can do it!! Oh, and that Berma looks sweet!! :D

I ride like that in the pasture...with one horse loose. But ours are two old lazy ones...but that is the only way that I am able to deal with their buddy sour issues and build my confidence at the moment. Once I have more confidence I'll feel better taking one out of the pasture and dealing with issues.

THank goodness we have 80 acres fenced in though, with trails..so it's not too boring.

Wow, all i can say is that Berma is an awesome horse, absolutely perfect for you. If you were taking a video of Bronson in there with another horse running around like a maniac, you would probably have seen me on the ground.:D

Yep, I did but I'm certainly no trainer!:whistle: He seems to be acting up more now that he's 100% healthy!!! I have her set up to take lessons but for some reason, she won't call the instructor.:mad: I was wondering if the lady that gave her Berma could settle Icky down a little bit for her.;)

Yes, defiantly right Kathy I must call the instructor, lol, I will get on that right away! I don't know if she could, but I will ask her about it :) Ickabod is very spunky now that he is healthy, lol, he would be an awsome horse if he could just not bucket me off, lol

Great video, Torie. You looked like you were having so much fun! You're so pretty, I'm jealous! xD

I ride Dakota bareback in the pasture all the time and Beauty follows us everywhere. If I ask him to lope she runs right behind us. Somtimes it annoys him and he throws in a few little bucks, but mostly he's very well behaved. Good times, lol. :D

I hope you can get your herdbound problem resolved. I've been there and it's not fun, but I'm proud to say that my two are almost completely over it, and they are very manageable and pretty much easy to handle when taken away from each other. (: I'd love to come over and help you with your horses in person sometime! They're both beautiful.:) It would be cool if you could come over here too and meet my two.

Ok, it has been awhile since I have seen you. And all I can say is :eek: WOW! You look great on Berma, smiling and actually out there riding! I am almost tearing up (its dust I tell ya, DUST). I am proud of you. I can't say it enough girl, you looked great! :clap:

You're not feeding sweet feed or alfalfa are you? That was the problem with Sombra. I switched her to a grain rationer (gives them the nutrients without the extra energy) and straight grass hay. It was like NIGHT/DAY soo different! I was amazed that it made that much of a difference.

Anyway, hope all goes well for you.
