That quick upload as an attachment works just fine, but it will always post as a thumbnail.

If you want to post pictures full size, you can create albums (look in the User CP) and upload the pictures there. Or of course, you can always use something like photobucket.

How I post a picture. ( Method # 2. )

1) Get a photobucket account- upload picts.

2) copy and paste the link with IMG code ...IMG link IMG - note IMG must be in brackets.
into your reply box. 2b change caps to small maybe- i do [img] link [img]

3) hit preview post optional.

4) hit submit reply.

5) example
[img] link [img]

[IMG]http://i228.photobucket.com
/albums/ee150/mtnmollie
/P1010038.jpg

change beginning and end img to small

and hit submit reply.

I post photslinks (IMG code from photobucket) in the reply box not the attachment

change caps to small maybe- i do [img] link [img]At h.com you had to change the IMG code to lower case, here you don't have to. It will except it in all caps JUST FINE :)

Okay, now that I have pics in my CP album - how do I get them in my post?

BTW - lookie!! Even I managed to get an avatar! I was going to use the horses but I couldn't find a pic with all of them in it - and I didn't want anyone to feel left out... :)

Under the picture should be the [IMG] code. Select and Copy that, then Paste it in your thread. :)

So there is no way just to go straight to the album from the post pics area of the reply? You have to go to the album or wherever first and find out the code then paste it in? Bummer! Is there a way that we can have a quick link through reply attachments to go to the album and pick the pics out?

Ah well, at least it auto resized them just right for me when I uploaded to the album - I hated having to go in and modify all of my pics before uploading to h.com because they were always too big.

For now I would just have the pictures open in a different tab or window so you can click back and forth.

We are hoping to eventually get something like hgs uses for pictures, that does have some upload and post links in the reply box, but that particular one is not a free add on, we'll have to buy it... looking at the various options to see what we want. It's on the to-do list :)

I clicked on each and saved to an open word file then copy/pasted from there - it didn't even occur to me to open another forum tab. That worked out pretty well, though!

Ok, I thought I got it all figured out and my pics seemed to post fine - but Mandzanita says she can't see them. Could someone else hop over to the "July new home" thread in Horse General and see if you have a problem seeing them?

42- I can't see them either.

I'm not seeing any pics -mandy

The first time this problem showed up was in the sick stick horse thread-I thought it was joke. hehe

Joke on me.

I noticed one thread this morning where I couldn't see the pictures... but when I logged in, I could.

It's curious and we are going to look into whether there are settings and permissions in the albums or in the overall forum that might need to be looked at.

Of course... I don't think that's what was wrong last night, because Mandzanita was logged in at the time.

Should I try posting them directly from the comp with an upload and skipping the photo album step? It sounds like a lot of people are having that prob on mine, so maybe it is because I went through the album.

Doing the direct upload would only give you a thumbnail.

More people on the thread aren't seeing the pictures? I'll go take a look.

I think it's probably just a fine tuning that needs to be done in the settings. Let us look at it and see if there's some reason they may not show up sometimes. Because we need to solve that.

Copied here too:

I found the problem :) 42Many... When you made the album, you set it to (Private - only visible to contacts and moderators) That means the pictures were only visible to me and the people already on your friends list.... not everyone else.

I changed it to Public - because I think that's what you really want in this case. It's something to keep in mind when making albums.

I just came on thinking that that was probably the problem! Thanks for fixing it for me :)

I'm trying to remember all the instructions to post a picture so this is a test to see if it works.

So here on my computer, it looks like it does. Do you all see a full size picture?

WashingtonBay
