Just out of curiosity.. Would anyone here be interested in doing a small forum meet up for Pennsylvania and the surrounding states(possibly sometime in '09)? I've had this in mind for a while.. I've never met up with anyone from online and I think it'd be a really need experience to meet some of you in person.

Well, as you probably already know, I'd love to, but my mom probably wouldn't go for it (even though I flew to Florida to meet Taylor, lmbo). 'Tis a confusing situation. xD I hope there could be a meet up, though, it would be neat to see all the pictures, hehe.

*snatches cloedoll, you must come, takes her away to forum meet *
lol. I'd go if not too far. Me with little guy limits my traveling.

Yes Caitlin, you mustt go. :D I could even bring an extra horse(Raen ) if you couldn't get Cloe or Keidas. :p
I know I could set one up.. my Mom would let me, its just a matter of seeing who would actually go and finding a place that's convenient for everyone. It's something to think about.

I would love to go! It would be great if I could bring Dixie but I would have to work out something with somebody who has a trailer.

I'd love to go sometime next year. Especially if I could drive myself and my mom would let me go. Pennsylvania isn't really that far away.

Hey i would love to -- I am in central Ohio--what town is in potter county that i can look up and get an estimate how far away?
FatSpottedAppy
12-08-2008, 05:33 PM
Well, I'm in Genesee, PA and we have tons of trails here.. but its so far away from everyone. I figure maybe we could go to a state park or something unless you guys would want to come here(There is the benefit of several different pastures, stalls, a house, etc.).. Haha. I'm sure I could probably go up to 3 hours away. How about the rest of you?

I'm about 8 hours away. :(

Ah ME!!!!!
Morgan you know PA is full of state parks, how about the Allegheny Park? It's about 3 hours away from me, and probably 3 hours from you as well. (3 hours from Cleveland, just fyi for you guys) I don't have a horse, but if the horseless maybe want to meet me in Cleveland and I can drive to the state park? Just a thought?

Even if I could come (slight chance of that =P) Cloe or Keidas wouldn't be able to. -sigh-

Horserider-- That's too bad. :( I doubt anything would go on in Genesee anyway, it's too far away from everyone.
Where about is the Allegheny Park?
For all you horseless people I'm sure there are a few of us on here who could bring along some extra horses.. If my Mom and her boyfriend decide to just hang out, I'd have 2 extra(If I get my new horse by then.)

That would be awesome! I would love to come, but I don't know if I'd be allowed or not.. though if it's next year, like late summer, I'll be 17 or almost (birthday is in August) and have my regular drivers liscense so that may work if I don't have to involve any parents.
I would so love to bring Beauty and Dakota, but that would only work if I had a different horse trailer (mine is useless, I'm still kicking myself for that stupid, live-and-learn mistake. ). But I hope to get another one next year, so who knows?
Would anyone be interested in riding either of them?:) Dakota is an awesome trail horse, and Beauty is spunky but still pretty good over all.:)
 Discrimination! lol OK, I'll be just real happy to see the pics.

Yeah, that would be fun! I'm close to the Pa border too.

I am thinking along the lines of a weekend during mid-June to mid-August which would give us a long time to plan where to go and when.. I will be able to bring along 2-3 horses, one for me and 2 seasoned trail horses for the horseless.
Haha Mare, if you can make the drive you can come. ;)
If anyone is interested in actually going through with this and helping me plan it, please PM me. I'd really like to, but I need to make sure there's some people who are seriously interested in it, first!

I'm so excited! I hope this thing can work out!!
Any Ohioans, if you have an extra spot in your trailer, please let me know, I would love to bring Dixie!
If it doesn't work out to bring Dix, I would be more than happy to carpool with somebody. I've got a truck but I'm sure my mom would let me borrow her car, more seating ;)
Kaitlyn

Hey y'all if this works, I'll have an extra spot for 3 people comfortably if we all pack light! Yeahhh right haha. I have a big trunk. Mash and stash method!

I'm in, could probably talk my dad into going too. Kinda have to bring him, it's his truck and horse trailer. We would probably have a spot or 2 open in the trailer, depending on circumstances. I'll start looking for places, I think this could be a lot of fun.

I would love to do that. I wouldn't be able to go too far away though, by next summer I will have my license, but I wouldn't be able to drive long distances. I wouln't be able to bring the horses either. idk, it would be alot of fun.

Hey Torie! If you were allowed to go (and if I am), maybe you could ride with me! We live pretty close to each other, and I will be have my regurlar liscense by then.:) That way we wouldn't have to involve our parents too much. It *might* work!
And you could even ride Dakota, and I'll ride Beauty.:) But that's only if I have a horse trailer by then. But you never know what will happen between now and then!:D *crosses fingers*

When checking state parks make sure they allow horses if it's going to be a horsey thing. We have our family reunion at a state park every year and they do not allow horses there. Dogs and cats are OK, no horses.
Hope you guys will all have lots of fun, it sounds like fun! I'm in PA but I don't travel much. We go to VT one a year and that's it and chances are this year we won't go there since I won't want to leave my dog Noah because he's getting old and he has Lyme Disease.

Anyone else???? Lol. Hey dakota, what part of PA are you located in? Give me a shout in a pm or otherwise. Trying to figure something out.
I'll only be able to bring my own hossie if it's a decent ways from my place. Don't want to put too much weight on the 1500 with a steel trailer.

Oh and what about somewhere towards Pittsburgh? Anyone out that way? Surely someone in the middle would know of a place we could have a ride. I know of quite a few places around here but would be kinda far for some people.
Cooks Forrest in Cooksburg has 4.5 miles of bridle path trails for horses. Anyone been there, know where it's at??? 2 hours and 45 min from me.

Kaitlyn

CooksForest is about 3 hours from me, just a ways off I-80. It would be nice to get together there! Pittsburgh has a lot of difficult traffic.
mandisue
12-10-2008, 09:27 AM
Well if you can by pass Pitt by taking the turnpike it's all flat driving with not much traffic that way.
Kaitlyn
12-10-2008, 09:55 AM
The only times I've been in Pitt were not no purpose, got lost in that damn city a few times and it seems I can never get out haha. Got in from 80 to 79? or is it 76? One of those, cost me 20 some dollars in tolls and that was a few years back, so that's something to consider, and tolls are supposed to go up come first of the new year.

I could probably do an area around Pittsburg. Does anyone want to find a horse friendly place and maybe I can make a new thread with a poll to vote on it? I'd do it right now but I'm in school
Annie, that's too bad.. I was looking forward to meeting you. :(

Well, Kinzua from me is about 3 hours if I remember right, Warren isn't a bad drive to get to either. And again I'll offer carpooling from Cleveland to Warren, get to Cleveland and I'll drive the rest.

Warren is too far for me to take the horse, but if someone has a "steed" I can borrow I'll drive anywhere! :) But then again, don't revolve stuff around me.
Kaitlyn
12-11-2008, 07:09 AM
lol FoxFire we'd need everyone's opinions and see how far and where the meet in the middle can be. Seeing as though my house in PA is 5 hours, I'll drive 5 hours. No biggie to me since I don't even have a horsie :(
On edit: Should I ask who would need to borrow a horse?
Oh my,so much to ask.
