I never thought that I'd say I was grateful for snow, especially this close to the holidays! However, somehow or another I'm way behind this year. I'm taking the time today to finish up the jellies for the jelly baskets. Right now I'm working on Champagne Raspberry Jelly, next up will be a Champagne Strawberry, than probably a mixed berry jam. I'm very grateful that berries freeze well, these are my own berries that I'm just getting around to doing. Wonder if I'll have time to do apple and a hot pepper jelly tonight. Who knows, we shall see, but I do feel much better now that I'm getting it done. Still have chocolates and mints to make, but that is quick and easy, and not nearly as time consuming as jelly.
So I notice alot of you are having "weather", how are you spending your time?

Snow days are great days for catching up on things. I've been playing hooky from housecleaning, though, and actually reading a book *gasp*, when I'm not on the computer. I don't think I've read a book in months, yet I used to read three to five a week before I got the computer.

You're good making things! I am so far behind I feel like I can never be done on time. We finally have about all the shopping done and most things wrapped then we need to do our village and tree. That takes forever [The village, the tree takes about 15 minutes!] and my husband hasn't even done his wreaths yet. Time is running out, it's coming too fast. I used to paint all of the gift boxes I'd put gifts in and I'd make alot of the gifts. I don't get that done any more. I don't know why I don't have the energy I used to.

Well, I'm just finishing up. 96 jars of jelly/jams, and looks like one batch of syrup (it didn't set right). I'm so glad that that is done. Still have to make the candies (kids are a big help with this), which should go quickly, and the chocolate covered spoons (for stirring coffee), the snowman mints (the kids do well with that one too), and the center pieces. Than my gift baskets will be complete. The kids are each making an ornament for each basket and a suncatcher. I have to send the pics out to be developed for the ornaments. Its almost done. The most time consuming part is complete. The rest should be done by weekends end. Nothing like waiting until the last minute!
Hopefully this year none of the dogs steals anything off the counters. Last year the kids made green cookies and apparently the dogs helped themselves and ate the whole batch. Hubby and the girls tried to "hide" it from me, but the truth came out when the yard became riddled with green poo.
