Queen of starting threads again, sorry!

So, going off my social anxiety thread, I got another call from another company and have an interview Friday, and I have one Thursday with another one.

But the similarities make me nervous.. it was the same 'hiring managers checked you out, interview in early afternoon, and sending conformation email'

Am I over analyzing this? Is it standard procedure or should I be worried it's fishy? They are in different cities but I'm still over analyzing.

Sounds like an agency that's working for both companies - they get a % if you get hired and it doesn't matter where, pretty common. They set up and initial interview and then they will set one up with the company if they think they can get you hired.

Are these with "insurance" companies or similar? I've been getting TONS of them since I posted my resume and researched the names given and after finding a couple of them on ripoff report I decided to pass.

You should have the name of the companies, right? If so - google search!

Man girl you need to take a deep breath!!! Like they said probably same hiring agency. No biggy. And if that is not the case, many people do procedures in the same way. Best of luck in your interviews!

JetLag - Thanks! That makes me less worried.

Cat- they are, I did do a google search on them, which is why I didn't call the one because of the reports I read, the others checked fine. But at this point I need all the interviews I can really get, but if I don't see more people, I'll smell something fishy and I won't hesitate to leave.

LOL FoxFire - I <3 you, thanks for that. I tend to over analyze and get worried, anxiety doesn't help. I'm ok, breathing, Yes. I'm alright haha just nervous and worried about scam and the 'pyramid schemes' I've heard so much about.

Understood... just rememeber as a rule of thumb for myself I never give out my SSN until the day I'm signing the papers in the office of that place I'm working at.

Actually, if its the ones I think it is - its not really a pyramid scheme, but more of a situation where you have to fork out money to get your license and if you do that then its lots of cold-calling with little to no real training. Legal, but not a great set-up and most people don't last long. One thing to ask is what is their average time for an agent to remain. There ARE legit insurance sales jobs out there that give you the right training and set you up right, but there are others to stay far from.

I tell myself all the time that even if I don't want the job it is good to do the interview anyway. It will give you practice for the one that you really want and it helps with your confidence. It may just be that they are from the same staffing agency. I forget who sid it but never give out your social security number until you are hired. If you know what type of company they are do some research and ask them some general questions also while you are there. I wish you luck... keep us informed on the results.

I agree with lisakaye. I've had a few interviews over the years with companies I didn't care for in the end, but the interview experience was worthwhile.

I agree with Lisakaye too.. Even though you might not like the job go for the interview for the experience. If they do call you for the job you can always say "thanks" but you took another job offer. I am not crazy about the job I got(I would like more hrs.) but it will do till something better comes along. And meanwhile I am getting more experience.

Thanks for the responses, I finally got the right website and it's a marketing solutions company so is tomorrow's interview lol. Today is ASI and tomorrow is GME both marketing but these are the companies that take fresh 18 yr olds with no experience in marketing and mold them into what they want. Which is fine, I just wanted a job that made more than minimum wage and wasn't food or retail.
