Okay everyone has heard about this mysterious snow in Las Vegas, NV.
The desert, a place where the sun shines 360 days a year, wellllllllllllllll not today, no sun just LOTS of SNOW and I do mean that white flaky stuff.

My daughter and I go out to the stable. As we where heading out it started to snow a few little flakes at the house. As we was driving down the road to the stable, larger snowflakes fell.

When we arrived at the stable my daughter could hardly wait til I parked the truck. She shot out of the truck and started playing is the dusting of snow.
I turned the horses out to play in the dusting of the snow and my gelding was like a little kid, running, playing rolling, jumping around.
When I turned our QH mare out, she pretty much walked around looking for food. She did get to play in the flaky white stuff for a while then she started to shiver and I knew her time was up and she wanted her blankey.

I put the blankets on the kids and before I got to get them back into their pens, they both rolled in the dirt. I thought I owned a spotted horse but ??? kinda wondering from the pictures LOL!

When we arrived at home, the kids wanted to have a snow fight and make a snowman. Right now they are still outside making a snowman and yes, it is REALLY SNOWING HARD! It's so pretty. I haven't seen this much snow in the valley in ??? eons.
Anyway, here are the pictures and I will have more to add.

Wow, that's cool. I bet it must be really neat when people who live in places that very rarely get snow.. well, get snow. Just image a good 5 months of it now. :D

Well, the snow is pretty but I don't want to live anywhere where it happens regularly. I lived in Oregon long enough to learn how annoying it can be.

VHL, I did not know about the airport but I changed my mind about shopping, too many people who have no clue how to drive when the roads are dry nevertheless, SNOW!!!

Fatspottedappy,
It is a treat for us here in Vegas and I do remember those days of when I thought the snow would never go away. I'm originally from SNOW WORLD USA. LOL!!!

Yeah, not looking forward to the rush hour drive home. Our wonderful local drivers are sure to be causing accidents at every intersection! Not to mention the tread on my truck tires are low, I am having new tires put on next week.

I bet snow would really be different there. It's fun hearing about people getting snow who have never seen it before, or have never seen it where they live.

I've lived in Minnesota all my life, and wonder what it would be like to never have to worry about shoveling, lol!

Great pics!

We get a lot of snow up in the mountains here but in the valley its kind of unheard of and very unusual, but it does happen.
I will say is that the last record snow like this was back in 1978 and they are saying that we are going to break that record fall.
It started snowing around 11:30am this morning and it's 8:18 pm and it's STILL snowing. We are in a winter advisory until 6am.

I'm hoping to go riding tomorrow in the snow. I've never really rode in the snow before (since living in Vegas) We'll see, my son just popped in and told me that there is no school for tomorrow due to the snow  I'm going to have to figure out another sneek out approach:innocent:

Well, we still have all this white stuff ALL over! I just seen on the news this morning that we are the hardest hit. We ended up with about 5" and in the surrounding area 8". Downtown and the Strip is around 1"
I was planning on taking a ride today but since the kids are off from school and are up already:doh: I guess I will have to stick to my promise about finishing up Christmas shopping. Oh well, there is always tomorrow, right!!!

I just sent some of my pictures to the fox news desk (national) They did not have any pics of Vegas snow??? They do now HEEHEEHEE!
