Ok, here's the deal.
I'm trying to lose a good amount of weight and have been trying since the middle of 8th grade. So far, I've only lost 10 lbs, then gained them back (RAWR). But now I'm really trying to lose the weight. I'm so sick of being "the fat girl" in my grade and doing bad in gym class. I love being active and doing things, but I'm still overweight. I've been called every name you could think of that relates to "fat". Guys make fun of me, so I've never had a boyfriend, and I practically repel people. I really think that I'm not that ugly, but being overweight hides it. We have to do body composition in gym and those days I'm always so embarrassed. I have more muscle than fat, but still, too much fat.
Does anyone have any weight loss tips? My goal is to lose 10 lbs a month so by April or May I'll be down to my ideal weight. I'm eating less, but, since it's winter, I dont get to exercise as much. I stack firewood almost every day. I dont have my license yet so I cant drive to a gym and anyways, I have to babysit my brothers almost every day. When the weather gets better, I'll get out and ride my bike and go for walks or runs.
Any advice would be really helpful!

this boy had a scare last year with super high colestral ....
Well I started a simple diet which I knew the doc would advise and that equates to
1-2 meals a week of meat. (0 eggs and the correct milk)
2 months I lost quite abit of weight.
I don't care what kind of diet you have quite frankly American's over eat - period.

Make sure you are drinking lots of water :) Also don't complete cut off every food you enjoy - indulge once in awhile to cut out cravings...

I admit, its real hard to keep off the weight in the winter, especially when you cant drive! First off, be aware of how many calories you consume, it may surprise you! You need to find out how many you need to maintain your weiht and how many you need to loose. Some fun things to do in the Winter are skiing or snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and a super workout that you can do right out your front door is power walking in the snow!! Great workout! You do however have to consider that under certain temperatures (like what we have now), its hard on our lungs to work outside. You can also nuy like pilates or workout videos, they can be lots of fun! Be aware, but dont obsess!

I always eat in proportion. Or try to anyway, sometimes PMS really makes me ravenous. But anyway, eat in proportion, go for a walk around the block or something simple in the winter..it's cold but once you get walking it's much easier.
And don't be concerned about dumb high school boys saying you are fat. Lots of boys like more meat on the bones, I've met very few that like skinny skinny girls. I'm a 'plus size' girl and I'm rather fine with it now because I find clothes built for my type and stick with it. I look nice, boys like it when the ladies look nice, that's what counts.
High school boys..they..are just their own kind. lol.

Actually winter is when I LOSE weight the most because I have to go outside every day and start a fire in the outdoor woodmaster. Just getting DRESSED to go outside in the winter is enough to make me work up a sweat.
I would suggest English riding lessons. That is what helped me get below 200 pounds. That and working at a horse stable over the summer. Stay away from things that have HIGH FUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in them.

Could explain why? Back it up? She should know why to stay away from something.

I lost 68 lbs by cutting out bread and anything with yeast. I cut out sugar in every form. I had to because of a health issue.
I started to cheat a little with the sugar and I gained 5 lbs back. I stopped the sugar again and lost the 5 lbs. I will maybe cheat once in awhile but I won't eat sugar every day, my problem is once I taste it then it's all I can think about. I am a sugar addict so it's very very hard not to eat the things I love especially when everyone around me is eating them and then I pick up a magazine and see all the pastas I love and can't have or the pies, cakes, candy etc. It's painful!!!!!! When I see it on TV I want to put my hand through the TV and grab it! There are some days I'll kill for an M&M. If I have the yeast in my body I can't have any of it, if there is no yeast I can cheat a bit.
My cousin went to Weight Watchers and lost 80 lbs. She can eat everything just in moderation and there is a point system I don't quite understand but she understood it and dropped the weight. If she starts to eat more then she gains weight back.
Good luck, it's not an easy thing to loose weight but I'm sure if you want to and commit to it you will do it.
Eat slowly - put your fork down between bites and really taste your food. Stop when you are full - if you really eat slowly you will become fuller much quicker than you would expect because your mind has had time to get that "full" signal. Then you will actually be satisified. When you get hungry again - make sure its hunger and not bordem, try drinking some water first to see if the urge to eat goes away - eat something. Not eating something at that point will start to slow down your metabolism.
Starting to eat like this I now end up eating 5-6 smaller meals insteade of 2-3 meals and my overall metabolism is higher - I have more energy and feel better, not to mention the pounds are melting off.

This is a good point. My husband is always a little fleshy and has the try hard to stay a healthy weight. I on the other hand am always skinny. The different between us? Taste. I am picky about food and when I eat I ENJOY every bite. I was do the "MmmmMmmmmMMmmmm" while I eat. Nathan will be totally silent when he eats. He just EATS. That said, I believe I probably have more sensitive taste buds then he does. My hubby even found an article to this affect. Of course, I'm also amazingly hyper, so that might have something to do with it too.
I do think Cat has a good point. Eat less and remember to really enjoy each bite. If you don't need to eat it and you don't really love the taste, then skip it.
