This is from last year but it's going to look the same this year! I wanted to do vintage red & green ornaments for this year but didn't get around to checking for them so it'll be the same. This is our little ticky tacky tree, I love it, 15 minutes up, 15 minutes down. The other tree would take hours then the cats and my dog would have all the ornaments knocked off of it. This will be fine as long as my bird doesn't dive bomb it and break my old ornaments.

This looks pretty all lit up. Is that wallpaper on your walls? I was looking and first I thought that it was stone but now maybe I'm thinking wallpaper? It looks nice.

I used to love lights on our tree but with our little silver tree we can't use lights. The animals would destroy the tree so now we just have that little one I posted a picture of. I love to look at everyone else's. That kitty looks like it's enjoying the tree alot! My late cat loved laying under the tree. The ones I have now would love to tear it apart, of course my Misty who died did a number on it too, she learned if she stood on the windowsill she could strip the higher up ornaments off after she ripped them all off of the bottom. When she was done she'd lay in the mess. I would have to retrim it every day and then finally gave up!

Oh that sounds fun, can we have a day time picture close up?!

Everyone has such nice trees, I always wanted to have a high ceiling so I could have a real high tree then got allergic to real trees. Not sure if they make real high fake trees. We never had room for anything more than something small.

This was the last big tree we had before we put a bird cage in that spot!

Oh, this could be fun. I can go take a pic of my tree box, and all the rubber maid that holds the ornaments...LMBO. I haven't pulled that darn tree out since, um, 03. Id like to, some day, but it sure would be nice to have a reason to. I have the room, but Christmas hasn't been the same for quite some time.
Be nice to have someone to share it with. Then it would probably be different.

Carla, that's a great effect! It's pretty lit and sort of blurred. I blurr my pictures on purpose! Your packages look all coordinated. I wish I could do that, mine are all different types of paper and bows. Maybe some day I'll do a coordinated thing!

Gaited you house is pretty. We have a village too. Our Christmas cards this year were my cat Jack laying in the Christmas Village, it looked like the cat that attacked the Village, he's laying on people [Can't see it but I know he is] he has trees knocked down. It's so cute. Our cat Molly will not be going near it. She was running with the trees and everything when I was getting them out. We hope to get it done today, we have one more piece coming then that's all we have room for. When I was a kid my grandmother had a village under her tree, it took up 1/2 the room. They've move furniture out to put the village in. I loved it. I don't even have a picture of it. I don't know why my parents didn't take Christmas pictures.

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g82/ournoah/JackintheVillage.jpg

Here's Jack in the Village. I did a Snapfish Card that had a red back ground with ornaments, it turned out cute.

The trailer in our village looks just like the one we lived in when we first got married.

Well, here's mine. It's nothing fancy or big, but I love laying on the couch at night
and looking at it, with no other lights on but the tree. All the ornaments on it are
silver and I also hang my Swarovski Crystal ornaments on it, so it reflects the lights
really pretty, but it looks really plain with the lights on or with a flash...

And here's my entertainment center with the villiage houses on top...
http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=92&pictureid=6039

These aren't really Christmasy, but here's my collection of mounted Knights.
They're actually kids toys, but when I saw them I just had to have them. They're
kinda hard to see, but there's 6 of them, two on each shelf. I'm getting a couple more
of them for Christmas this year...

Actually that picture is a "wall mural" that was put on there prior to us living there.

We plan on painting over it come the new year! It's Pretty but doesn't fit the rest of the decor. Let me see if I got a picture of it! **goes searching**

1st one is before we moved our crap in.
2nd one is after we did. We are taking that heater out of the wall too.. Place needs a lot of work.

HaveFaith - your cats are amazing... and that one in the tree looks a little grumpy too. lol. :) Reminds me of the first Christmas an old boyfriend and I shared. We lived together and had a fake tree. Went out and spent all this money on ornaments, lights, etc. Decorated it and then went to work the next day... came home, tree was knocked over and our cats had destroyed about 50% of the ornaments. :( By Christmas day we only had lights left, everything else was broken. Those cats knocked it over EVERY day.

I don't have a good picture of our tree other than the one showing my toddler trying to cut it down:

Oh, I see what you mean. It's an old mill, right. I love the picture, but don't know if I would want it taking up a whole wall, either.
When I lived in a MH, I used a potted Norfolk pine for a tree one year. Just tied little red bows on the limbs.

HaveFaith
12-19-2008, 02:21 PM
That "grumpy" looking cat is only a 4 month old kitten. She's has the sweetest personality you could ever want. It's just the short nose himi/persian face that makes her look that way. Alot of people think they look mean. I had one once that was, but these are sweeter.
BUT, right after I took those pics, I heard a smashing breaking glass crash and they had knocked a vase off a fern stand that I had a silk rose arrangement in. I made it to "imitate" the first flowers Hubby gave me and had it for 10 years. OH, well.

I'm glad the toddlers are enjoying their tree.

Ya my mom did the bow one year on top of our big tree b/c she couldn't find our Angel. I thought it was so pretty, that I adopted the idea! She tied a bunch of lil bows on the limbs too. I only put the tree up jokinly but the BF liked it & told me to keep it up! LOL.

No kidding who'd a thunk it!!!!!

Yep they go for big bucks now, Three years ago I saw one go for $600.00 on e-bay! It was a full sized one with the pom pom ends. I WISH I took the one my grandmother tried to give me but I didn't because I hated the miserable thing. I used to beg her to get a nice tree! My cousin has her parent's tree and the price on it is $9.99!

We have a cheesy aluminum one. I never in my wildest dreams would think I would have one but we are both allergic to real ones. My horse died, my cat died and I said there would be no tree. My cat's hair was all over the tree we had and all the ornaments and I couldn't look at it. We went into an antique store and there was a cute little table top aluminum tree and it was like my grandmother was saying "You made fun of me all those years now buy it and you'll have one too" I bought it, there is a picture of it on one of the first pages of the thread. I love the little thing. It's ticky tacky but that's what my taste is going towards these days. I'm going back to the '50's and 60's in my decorating. I think it's the memories of childhood.

I think alot of people are thinking that way since the trees are going for big bucks, McCoy pottery is going for big bucks. I have my parent's old kitchen set from 1951. Glad I didn't have to buy one, I don't think I could afford it. Wish I had their old stove. Everything old is new again but the prices are high to get that stuff.

A real tree would be my 1st choice but a real tree makes us very sick so our cheesy aluminum one it is. I just got done putting it up.

Oh Yeah Nao, HI and your horses are adorable. Those things wouldn't last 2 minutes on my horses they'd be yanking them off of each other!

Nao: Your horses are beautiful. Decorations are pretty, too. When we were in the home town parade, it was down a county road with mail boxes down the side. Faith kept going up to the ones with evergreen decorations on them and trying to eat it. It took me a couple to figure out what she was doing.

John Boy- glad you like it. Thanks.

OS- We had a silver tinsel tree when I was little. I've seen pics of it since. My sister 'bout croaked when she wanted it (because of the $$$$) and Mother told her she trashed it or sold it in a yard sale!
