I know you GALS will understand why I am a little upset with hubby.

Last night we were watching TV and flipping back and forth on channels. Well the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show came on. No problem I love the stuff and think the show is fabulous. Well DH (in this case it means dumb husband) says,"Why do they have all that extra crap on." It was a costume with large beautiful butterfly wings. I inform him to add to the effect and make it more of a couture show. He says, "Well it looks stupid." So I say, "Well are you telling me if I walked in the room in that outfit you would walk away?" His response was................
"Well are you going to have legs that go up to your ears, long blonde hair like that and boobs that perky?"

Now he can not understand why my 5'4 brunette now short hair self (cut 11 ins. off to donate) would be upset by this. Maybe I am wrong here.....

Heh.... I dunno. I guess I know I'm so far from that description that it's a reasonable question! lol. I wouldn't be upset.

I mean, otherwise... I'd just be a pudgy chick in wings... ;)

Lol I"m there with you dear. Hubs says things sometimes picking on me. ( stuff that doesnt' bother him but does me, baby belly, etc....) and it does bother me, he can't understand when I get a bit huffy over it.

TLC97

WB- here is the history behind some of it. Hubby knows (is the only one who really knows) how much the weight I have gained over the years really bothers me for one. He also knows that I am very self-conscious about how my 38D girls sag now. And how being only 5'4 sometimes really bites.

That is why I was so upset.

I know... and in hindsight he probably shouldn't have said it, but we can't get all worked up about that kind of stuff. Our hubbys still love us, and we would look preposterous in those outfits. He said they looked stupid. He didn't slip up until you pressed him to expand on that, and asked him a question that has a thousand wrong answers and only one right one, with no time to rehearse. I'd cut him a little slack is all. He didn't mean to hurt you, he meant to make a joke.

yeah...and I NEVER seem to be able to get the right answer when that happens to me ;)

Luckily, my wife has a sick sense of humor like I do, so life is good !

I can see it both ways. Like WB said he most likely thought he was being funny and wasn't thinking it would hurt you. A lot of men speak and then think. But I can also understand it hurting you. The answer should have been....."WELL!" :D:D:D With the big smile on his face.

Well, then I'd just suggest not asking him questions that have a high chance of landing him in the dog house, unless that's where you want him to go. :p

It's like a horse... if you're not sure he'll give the right answer, then set it up so he has the highest chance for success. It's not about gotcha moments and catching mistakes, it's about making the right thing easy and the wrong thing hard...

I'm a 34 BARELY B and what exactly are you complaining about? Sagging or not, you have something to sag. I've got nothin'. Go get a push-up bra.

Hey, in all seriousness. Have you girls tried Victoria Secret bras? They are AMAZING! Changed my life. Na' just kidding, but they are SUPER comfortable. :D

Don't feel bad. Men are simple and don't think before they talk to us on matter like that. It gets them into trouble but you know if you ever put on that outfit and walked in to the bed room you would have him wrapped around your little finger!! No matter how bad you think you might look in the outfit, he truly wont care that your not that tall blond. He will just be amazed you actually put that on for him and won't even have room in his brain to think about blonds because he will be too busy trying to figure out what just happened and what he is going to do about it. lol

That's weird. 'Cause I could literally not wear a bra and be fine-even trotting, but I can't. I love the support feeling on a bra. Probably because none of them really are tight on me. Or maybe it's because without a bra I would literally look like a pre-teen. At 25 I still get mistaken for a teen. When we get solicitors at the door they always say, "Can you give this to the owners of the house?" LOL. I just laugh. At least they never try to sell me stuff.

I love those bras!! I have a bit more than nothing but I'd still consider myself to be on the "smaller side" (full 34 B...could fit into a C if I didn't mind a tiny bit of room) and I call it my super bra because it makes me look like I suddenly have natural looking....implants....lol. Plus they are so comfy! My very favorite VS bra is the Very Sexy though...nothing beats those babys.

Back to the original topic...I feel for you Tanya. Everyone is different and will react differently to situations. Some girls can just brush that stuff off without a thought and some take it a little deeper, especially when it pokes a spot that's a little self-consious. I can't stand it when people say "that shouldn't bother you" when in reality IT DOES bother you. Who do they think they are to tell you what should and shouldn't bother you? My cousin is famous for saying those types of things when I confide in her and it drives me nuts.

It's probably not something to start a huge blown out of proportion fight over (which it doeasn't sound like you did) but in no way is it wrong for you to let him know that it hurt your feelings. As his wife, and the most important woman in his life, his job is to care when he's found out he's said something to hurt you and figure out how to make it right.

Ranger-I never ask that sort of question. If I get a haircut I do not expect him to comment on it.

UPDATE: I was just sent flowers at school. The cards says "I LOVE YOU" inside. On the outside it says to a wife whose still got it from a husband who still wants it. I guess I have to forgive him.

OR??? Should I pretend I didn't get them and make him sweat??????

This is his way of making it right, and it was a great fix :) I think it was very sweet and showed that he does care that he hurt your feelings and went ahead and put some thought into righting his wrong. :)

Tanya you better go home and show your hubby you still got it! Mine would NEVER send me flowers for something like that.... I say you need to make a stop at Victoria Secret on the way home. :D And I'm not talking about just a bra. ;)

Sounds like you have a keeper. Even when he messes up he still has a great way of making up for it. My husband is not a flower buyer. I can count on one hand the times I've gotten flowers from him and I've never gotten then delivered.

AUE-Sure send him up. After 2 weeks with me he will treat you like a queen.
For the record, I usually only get flowers 2 times a year, Valentine's & our Anniv. and he and our son go to a certain florist and pick each one out. The line he used was from last year's anniv. card. But the thought was still nice. He was also buttering me up for the latest round of drama with his family.

I will agree with WB, mean are like horses and do much better when taught with release.
Ranger-I like geldings, steady, relieable, and dependable. A stud wants to check out everything walking buy and climb on................ Wait, that is what gets men in trouble.:p

He shouldn't have said it, but it's the response I would expect from most men, something they would just casually say without realizing how it would hurt your feelings. (No offense, guys!) He's probably wishing he could take it back now.

If it's any concolation, I'm only 5 ft and wear a 32B or 34A. (And no, I'm not still growing unfortunately:doh:.) So you got me beat!:p

P.S. Yes, I know I'm not 18, hehe. But when you put "over 18" on it, most teenagers then pretty much have to look.:D My curiosity gets the best of me sometimes.:innocent: Sorry!:D

Yeah, I was like, "No! Dakota no! Don't read this!" Just kidding. :p

I would like to remind you that gentleman do still exist. IF you fish in the right ponds they do still exist. :) My hubby may not buy me flowers, but he's still an awesome guy. Hold doors, treats me to lunch, defers to my preferences, pretends to like horses () , etc.

I'm guessing Tanya's hubby is a pretty awesome guy too. One wrong action doesn't make him bad-it just makes him human. And his respond on the uptake was pretty sweet too!

Ooooh yeah. My boyfriend is so aloof sometimes when he says stuff. He doesn't MEAN anything to come out the way it does, but sometimes he says something that hurts my feelings a bit. The other day we were talking about the way clothes fit....he's 6'3 and about 150lbs (STRING BEAN) and I'm 5'6 and....well, I won't say my weight, but it's more than him and more than I want! LOL. But I was complaining about how I can't find a darn pair of jeans that fit the way I want. I'm not "fat" but I'm not "skinny" and unfortuantely it seems like they make jeans for skinny girls, jeans for fat girls, and "mom jeans." Haha....but nothing for those of us who are inbetween and curvy! He goes, "You should all just go naked all the time." I gave him one of these looks >>> and he goes, "YOU. I said YOU." LOL.
