Well, the snow has let up, but now the winds are howling and the temps are dropping.... I couldn't sleep, so I popped on here for a bit.....the temp here is 8 below and the windchills are around 31 below. Gusts up to 25 mph so far....I sure hope all the horses, including mine, are huddled together in the shelter! :(

I just went out to make sure my car started.....it started right up.... of course it's in the garage.....but I wasn't sure seeing as it was so cold out. The garage must stay fairly warm, I still have a liter bottle in my car and it is about one-fourth full of water (had it in there for my dogs when we took our walkies a couple months ago, we used to go walk at a nearby park and we drove over there)....and the water had not frozen at all, not even a tiny bit!

well we got snow finally and lots of it. I will try to post pics later. I am sooo happy we finally got some. I even got to ride in the snow. Something I've always wanted to do.

It's 3 above here, now- but the wind chills are horrible! I hope this isn't the pattern for the rest of the winter- heavy snow followed by freezing cold temps and wind!

Just finished snowing here again. Got another 6" on top of the 12" we got on Friday night. Sun looks like it wants to come out.I should go out and take some pictures but I hate the cold. It is 28 out,,I know,, that is nothing compair to some of the temps I see you guys post. so I should be happy.

It is cold her Remali. My two were out in the pasture when the winds hit and for some stupid reason neither horse went into their shed. I think the wind just got them squirrelly or maybe they were looking for forage, who knows. They get fed twice a day and the hay is gone by mid-day. I hope your stable gave them plenty of hay if they were outside 24/7. I thought you also said you could have access to a stall if need be? Or am I wrong on that? Man if I could weasel a stall out of someone I would. I'd even throw both of them into one stall...

or turn out in the arena...better than being in the shed. At least its narrow and small with only one entrance on the end.
