Shortest Day of the Year?!

I just now realized that today is December 21st which I think is the shortest day of the year if I remember right from eighth grade. The days will start getting longer again very soon!!!!!!!

I can't believe that this is only the first day of winter. It seems like it's been winter for the past two weeks especially with all this snow we've been getting.

That gives me hope that spring will get here someday! lol. We had about 6 or 7 inches of snow yesterday and last night the winds whipped it all up and now I have drifts in front of my front door and garage door....I want summer!

I really struggle with the lack of sun light so I start doing a happy dance right about now that we are gaining light each day now!

Waa Hoo! Yep, tomorrow the days start getting longer.

Time to start planning my annual "Days are getting longer/ParrotHead" party. We hold it in January. Everyone brings Hawiian shirts, leis, crazy hats. Put little umbrellas in the beer, pop, hot cocoa. We play Beach Boy tunes, Jimmy Buffet, anything "tropical." I'll have to get pics, if I can find willing participants. You ever play "limbo" while wearing pack boots and Carharts?

Yup, just like June 21st. is the longest day of the year.I hate going outside in the dark to feed the boys their dinner with a flash light. I got one of those miners flashlights that goes on your head so it helps.. Keeps your hands free for what ever you need to do.

Ha ha, I was thinking the same thing yesterday! Everyone was bumming because it was the shortest day of the year, but I was like HELLO, that means days shall be getting longer - that cheered them up. :D
