I just witnessed a mockingbird kill a mouse on my patio!!!
When did a mockingbird become a carnivore?
Don't they usually eat insects? Maybe with the winter they needed the protein and a mouse was the next best thing...

Poor little mouse. Oh well, just nature. I think most birds are omnivores, so I'm not too surprised.

Are you sure it was a mockingbird? The ones we have here aren't really built for eating mice.

I was attacked by a mocking bird once when I was about 4 lol.
Those birds are aggressive..

There was a video a few years ago on America's Funniest Home Videos of a mockingbird attacking a cat. He got the cat in the butt; the cat did a complete back flip upside down and took off like his tail was on fire. It was hysterical.
Around here, mockingbirds can be pretty doggone territorial. I try to stay out of their way...
