Can anyone tell me how long a transfer of ownership takes on average or is there no way to tell that?
I sent April's papers in 4 months ago for a transfer of ownership. They cashed the $20.00 check, and I haven't heard a single thing from them. I've emailed and emailed and emailed as there is no phone number and have no heard a single word back. I am in desperate need for those papers back.
The owner of Prodigy's sire messed up the half Appaloosa papers to register him with.. The papers say his dam is a grade named "Aprils Desent Rose" when her registered name is actually Aprils Desert Rose and she's a pure Kiger Mustang. I have to get him registered before he turns a year old(May) or I'm just going to have to forget about it because I wont have the money to spend on it. I'm panicking. I dont know what to do.
Not to mention that Aprils owners should be here January 10th at the latest and the owner of Prodigy's sire said there's a chance that I might have to send in sample's of April's mane.. This is just a huge mess.. Can anyone please give advice on what to do?

Well I'd pull some of Aprils Tail or Mane hair now and put it in a ziploc so you have it before she leaves. You have to get the whole follicle, and it takes quite a few hairs if I'm not mistaken, Tail hair pulls out with the follicle easier than mane hair.
As for her transfer papers there has to be a number somewhere. What registry was it?
And for Prod you'll have to have the sires owner get they're act together and resend his foal certificate in her right name and as her registered.

With AQHA and APHA my transfer was back within a couple weeks. I'm thinking they lost it or somethings going on. Do you know what registry it is? I found two kiger registrys a canadian one and this one.

Rock's owner will not do it. She's making me do it all. She told me I will have to get a copy of April's papers and send it in with the paper to get Prodigy registered with a note saying that the name/breed needs to be corrected. It's really pissing me off.. I mean really bad, because she has thrown me into a huge mess that is NOT my fault.
I will take some of April's mane/tail before she leaves.
Her registry is the Kiger Mesteno Association (http://www.kigermustangs.org/reg/index.php).

Do you think Aprils Previous owners would have a phone number for the registry? I would imagine they would if they breed them. I'd try contacting them too see if they can help. As far as prod you'll probably have to do as she says, make sure she's signed the breeders cert, and I'd also call APHC just to be sure and let them know that his dam is marked down wrong.
GOT IT!~ The Registar ( person registering all that stuff) is Pam Perdue of CA but it won't give me her number, maybe information can get it for you.

I don't think April's previous owner would have the number, but I did just write April's breeder and asked for suggestions. Thanks for the name. I just found her on the website and i emailed her, also.
Miracle Whip, I am registering Prodigy with the ApHC as a half Appaloosa.

That does seem too long.....hopefully you can get a phone number and get ahold of someone by phone.
And as long as they cashed the check you should not be charged any kind of fee for registering him later or anything like that.

When I was waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, did I say I waited, I also called and called and called and called, did I say I called, the APHA for Citys papers. I won him in Jan, met and rode him in March, and I think after I brought him home, I got them um, 4 months later. Yup, they can be slow as cold molasses if ya ask me.
Call them, find out what the issue is. Its your right, they are your papers.

The thing is.. they don't have a number. I emailed aprils breeders and they pointed me in the same direction that Mandisue did. Blah. I wrote her, Aprils breeder forwarded my mail to her-- said that she was just recently elected and is trying hard to catch everything up.. so we'll see what happens.
