View Full Version : Yay! I'm so excited! (Papa Update)

The VA has been putting us off for getting Papa his chemo appointment (his PSA is at 45 and they know it's in his back), so Nana called them this morning and threatened them with a lawyer.

Forty-five minutes later they called back, Papa has an appointment - and not even for months from now like normal VA appointments are - for the 24th!!

Thought I'd share my good news for the day! :cowboy: Whoohooo!!!! :D

Great news!!!!! Papa will be well on his way back to health :)

That Nana of yours sounds like one tough lady ;)

I'm glad he has an appointment, hope all will be well. It's really sad when you have to fight for an appointment when you need care.

Thanks for the comments ya'll, they mean so much. :) Sorry I kinda *poofed*, our power went out and took our router with it... so we just got the internet back up and running.

know about the va, my dad told them one time trying to make appointment that he could be well by then. they have a gotten alittle better, but not much.

I'm glad your Papa is going to be able to get care within a reasonable time. The whole health system is so slow!

It is very slow... until you threaten them with a lawyer. For some reason they aren't too thrilled with that. :D

Hey ALOK, I just saw this post. Glad to hear that your Papa is finally getting in! And you are all in my prayers, like the rest of the forumers that need it!

Sounds like your Nana is a very cool lady, that is great your Papa is getting in sooner. I had to deal with a lot of grief from docs and redtape when my mom was on chemo many years ago, sometimes all it takes is a phone call letting them know what may happen if things to get moving soon.
