Hey everyone!
I joined about a week ago and have just been lurking since with the holidays that's really all I have time to do!
So we have this horse that we are trying to sell and on all the sites I have him up on I have him listed as a "pinto" but somehow on dreamhorse he got listed as brown. I don't have pictures up on dreamhorse so I email them to people who are interested.
I sent pictures to someone yesterday and they email me back saying they weren't expecting a palomino! Now I'm not great on colors so I can be wrong.
What do you all think?

I fixed his listing on dreamhorse to pinto. Oh yeah by the way this pretty boy's name is Phillip. :)

Well, I'm not one of those who is particular about the fine distinctions on color, but I think he's "just" a sorrel with a flaxen mane. And VERY pretty. :)
Oh - and welcome to our forum :)

He is BEAUTIFUL. I don't know what you call the coloring but I love it. I love spots but love more color than white since the white is so hard to keep clean! I hope he'll get a wonderful home, wish it was mine! Are you in PA? I found a Phillip in PA, part draft. My friend is having a horse sale tonight, don't know if there will be many buyers though.

Yep, Sorrel.:) You're obviously better on colors than the person who is interested in him.:D

Is he a Belgian cross? He sure is a looker!! Wow, He's pretty!! His back legs seem thick and his chest is wide so I was thinking Belgian cross but he could just be a big QH...maybe.

I agree also, but wow he is so cool!
I would say he is a flaxen chestnut (or sorrel for those that prefer that term) but I also saw a horse I swore was a flaxen chestnut, but it ended up being genetically verified as a palomino. So really, unless this horse is potential for breeding, you could call it either or. If it was for breeding and someone really wanted to know for sure they could send a hair sample in to UC Davis for testing for the cream gene. That is the only way to know 100%.

Thanks everyone!
Yes, we are located in NE PA and he is a Belgian cross. I didn't really think it was a big deal either but she was disappointed that he wasn't black. Like I misled her or something.
Being a belgian cross - yeah most likely flaxen chestnut.
Can't please them all - I wouldn't worry about it!

Tell me about it!
I've been wrong about a lot of things lately and I just needed to be reassured that I can be right once and awhile. :)
