Well on my way to speedway with hubby for a coffee this morning. There was a pup in the road and it ran after are van for a piece. Hubby said he bet it was dumped. So on the way back home I was looking hard to see it and there she was again in the middle of the road. If we weren't going slow and looking we could have hit her. She stopped right in the road in front of us. So I had to get out an bring her home. She is well groomed and fed with a collar I figure someone is missing her. She smells good like doggie cologne. I feel she is around 6/8 months old and a Pit bull. She is a little shy but warms up fast and does well with my other dogs. She also acts like she is use to being in the house. I made her a bed on the back porch for tonight. I am hoping to find her owner. If not I will have to find her a home. Here is a picture of her. I have been calling her Bella it just seems to fit her. Do you think she is full Pit ? I am going to post her as found on what road but not anything about her and if some one calls they will have to describe her and the collar she was wearing.

So happy you found her. I wonder if she was dumped if she was running after that van. Hopefully you will find a home for her if you can't find her real owner. She looks very cute, I hope so much her family is missing her and she wasn't thrown out of that vehicle.

Aww, bless her. She's a beauty! I don't think she's full Pit, though. Something about that muzzle.. or it could be the age.. something.

But she's sure cute! I hope you can find her owners and if not, a great new home. :)

If I don't find her owner anyone want a cute puppy ? I just peaked out and she is asleep on the bed I made her. She is playful but not ruff. The thing she needs work on is jumping up on you. She does not offer to mouth you at all which is good. She wants to come in the house. I would say she was use to being inside. I might bring her in and see how she does. I do have a large crate I could put her in to sleep. I just don't know if my Mini Schnauzer will like her. He is a big dog in a little body. lol !! I went and looked at some Pit bulls online and she looks a lot like them. In the pictures she was not perking up her ears like she does and you can see the wrinkles in her forehead more then and she looks really pit then. I will try to get some better pixs tomorrow. I really like her color. Here I am wanting a Boxer that color or brindle. lol !! I better find her owners soon or a new home she is the type of dog I could get attached to. I always said I would not own a pit not because I don't like them I do its just the way a lot of people see them and we let are dogs run on the farm. Are Great Pyrenees already scares enough people when they come here. We do teach them to stay on are property.

HEHE !! Maybe if I let Hubby read this he will let me keep her if owner can't be found. With you all thinking she looks boxer mix. ;) If I can get my Vet Tech buddy to tell him the same but she seen her pixs and says Full Pit...SHH !! ;) She is coming over tomorrow to look at her in person and look at her teeth for her approx age. While Hubby is at work. I am also planning on taking her to the vet later this week to see if she is chipped.

She's a pretty dog... and I agree, looks groomed and well kept. I'd take your pictures and print them out on a flyer you can post around tomorrow. Also call her in to the shelter as a found dog.

She looks sweet - I'm glad you got her off the road! You might run her by your local shelter and have them check for a microchip - I think some people tend to forget that you should have collar tags even if you have them chipped. Or maybe she was pretty new to them and didn't get her tags yet?

Late last year I almost hit a dog on the road going to my dad's house - I stopped and went out to call her, and she came running so fast! She hopped into the car and then darted into the back seat as if she owned the place. Fortunately, she had tags with a number on them - but we couldn't get ahold of the owner for most of the day. I ended up leaving her at my dad's place and the owner came by the next day to get her. Apparently, she was scared of thunderstorms and had dug out from under the fence to run away while he was at work. She was very old and mostly blind, and just as sweet as could be! When I found her, the storm was mostly over but she was sopping wet and looked so scraggly... we spent a while drying her off. I was glad I was able to help her.

Yup she looks pit to me...maybe a mix but they really don't get that pit head until they are almost a year...at least from the ones I've known.

I agree she's looking like a pit to me. She's got the wide as she is tall stance to her body, very compact and cute too! I agree have her scanned for a chip, let your local HS know, and post a few signs. She is a cutie and looks well cared for.

Guess who made herself at home in bed with me this morning. :) Yep the road pup. She is definitely use to being inside. She is very comfy inside and seems to be housebroke to. When asked to go outside to pee she will follow me to the door and go out. Then in a short while she comes back to the door and sits down and stares a whole in the door wanting back in. She is a doll. After playing with her today she will sit when I tell her to most the time. We are working on staying off the living room furniture. :)

I live in a very rural community and we don't have a Human society or pound. There is one in the next town over I called no one reported her there. I placed a flier at the local speedway. It was on the back country road that lead to speedway where we found her so I thought that was a good place to start. I did not put her picture because I don't want the wrong person to claim her. With her being a Pit there is a lot of the wrong type of people here that would try to claim her just to get a free Pit for the wrong reasons. I only put the road I found her on the date and that it was an older pup/young dog to claim call an describe. I will be taking her to the vet here later this week to have them scan her for a chip.

Now what to call her. We can't just call her Pit or dog. I was calling her Bella but my son doesn't care for it. He likes Ginger. I don't know anyone got any name ideas ? She is laying at my feet sound asleep as I type. :)

She is real purdy. Looks like a pitbull to me. If you can't find her owners, are you going to keep her?

Thanks 7horse. No calls yet from my flier :( If I don't find her owners I am not sure if I will keep her or not. I was wanting my next dog to be a boxer pup but she is a really good girl and already seems to be housebroke. She slept last night in my mud room in a big crate without making a peep. I just don't know if I want to take on a Pit. My son wants to keep her and I don't think my hubby would have a problem keeping her either. Which surprises me he usually doesn't like Pit bulls. I just worry about the way people see a pit. Of course I could not let her run like I do are GP with her breed but she has no problem being a house dog. She thinks she is a lap dog. See I just go back and forth I don't know. Thursday I hope to get to take her and see if she has a chip. I can't today I have to get an MRI and Wed. I have to work.

Sounds like you all love her, she almost looks sort of like a boxer, she needs a home, she seems like such a good girl, housebroken and everything, no housebreaking issues with a puppy! I'd keep her! She really is a cute dog and even though Pits have a bad rep. so many people have them with no issues. I don't know alot about the breed but I normally think it's the people raising the dog that makes a bad dog. Maybe I'm wrong but if she's that lovable I wonder if she'd go bad, if she stays in the house most of the time they won't even know you have her. With her being so good you have to wonder if she does have a family and is lost? I hope it all works out, she seems so nice.

Good luck with the MRI.

:) She does great with other critters. She is playing in the yard right now with are Rat Terrier Ruby. My Mini Schnauzer Grady is the one that is being a brat with her. He acts all tough and she just shy's away like man he is grouchy. She also has meant the barn cats and didn't pay them much mind. Next I will be introducing her to the chickens and horses. My son sneaked her in bed with him last night. She was suppose to sleep in her crate. He is getting attached big time. He is really wanting to call her Ginger. I am not real wild about it but I guess it is ok. She will most likely get called Gin a lot for short.

Thanks! Heheh, I found it in a book of baby names in Barnes and Noble many years ago :)

If you are thinking of keeping her... I volunteer with a pitbull rescue and have had them in my life for 12+ years. If there's any questions you have or anything I can help with I'd be happy to. I know they have a bad reputation... but pitties can be the most loving, dedicated, intelligent dogs in the world. I really can't imagine my life without one!
