we breed mostly AQHA reiners and cowhorses with a few APHA and half arabs. We show AQHA and NRHA shows right now and a few NRCHA show (I had a bad accident going down the fence but trying to work that out).

We stand STORMYS FANCY TWIST at stud and have a few babies a year for sale. We try to sell most of the babies before they are ready to show under saddle to rarely have finished reiners for sale.

You can check out our website at: www.circlejcranch.com (http://www.circlejcranch.com)

Yeah, I looked at that one, but it's a long commute mostly due to traffic and I absolutely hate going into the city.

Yeah that makes sense. Thankfully for me it's not that long of a commute!

Welcome!

Where in Oregon are you? I'm in the Hillsboro area.

The horses that I ride live in Wilsonville/sherwood area and I live in Portland

Welcome!

Hey All,

I'm Knight. I'm a truck driver for a local farmer. I work a lot with moving horses, sheep, goats and all animals that hate trucks. That's just my personal gift. I'm here to talk to other people in my field. Nothing big.

Thanks for having me.

Hi, I am Tia, and I just joined. I have five horses, and I have been riding since I was 8. I have 4 quarter horses, and one solid paint. I received my first horse when I was eight. My dad walked Willa down our driveway, and that is when my horse journey began. It has been an amazing and memorable experience that will last a lifetime. Quite a while later we bred Willa, and she had my second horse Onyx. I also have Valor and my dad's horse, Chance. I had my mare bred again 2 seasons ago, and she had Talitha.

Hi Everyone, I'm Esther, I am new to these forum things but I have read heaps. I am sure I will get the hang of all this pretty soon but i am somewhat Computer illiterate. :p

I have two horses, one ISH who is 16 and a foal who is 5 months old. My foal has had Joint Ill and is still a bit lame but he is still kicking along. The vets i used initially wanted to destroy him but I would have none of it. My close friend is a vet and she looked after him and today he is still here. I massage him twice a day and do red light therapy on him. He also gets all kinds of supplements, MSM being a bit part of it as well as a herbal joint ill formula and probiotics.

He is lame in his offside hind leg but only slightly. I am hoping he recovers from it. there is gradual slow improvement in his movement and he is weightbearing almost equally now on both his back legs. The biggest improvement is the amount of movement he has in that leg. 3 weeks ago he would not extend it fully and the other day he did an almost normal trot with extension. He now canters on both leads although one is stiffer than the other.

I am getting a Chiropractor out tomorrow to have a look at him and see if she can relieve his back. ( He is quite assymetrical but it looks like muscle development rather than an imbalance in his hips, although I am not a vet so who am i to say)

I refuse to give up on Dexter as I believe that one day he will be okay to poke around the paddock on. His leg certainly doesn"'t stop him caning around the paddock and playing with mum. He seems pretty happy and bright and a typical cranky colt!!!! (likes to bite)..

If anyone has any other pointers on what i can feed him to help his joint ill (and maybe a touch of physitis) let me know..

Looking forward to being part of this forum...:p

Hi, and welcome to Baywind!

Joint ill destroys cartilage, and there is no supplement, or diet, that will help repair it. Cartilage doesn't regenerate. Look into some of the newer treatments, such as stem cell therapy. I'm not up to speed on how effective they've become.
Exrays will tell you how much damage has been done, and how to proceed. I recommend you spend your money on solid diagnostics instead of chiropractic work.

I'm Jess. (In the message board world I am Samsara or FjordTuff). I live in the Northwest corner of Minnesota... it's flat and it's cold here. I have a 4 year old Fjord horse that I bought in 2009. Deb Bitton here from Cave Creek AZ and Stanley Idaho. Baywind Farm's suggested that I asked if anyone has pictures of trailrides in the Arizona desert? We are starting a new corral in Goodyear AZ and looking for pictures that we may use, buy, borrow that we may use until we have photos of our own for our website. We've been in Cave Creek for 12 years and this new venture is exciting but different terrain than North Phoenix. Not as much vegetation

Thanks ever so much.:cowboy:

Hi and Welcome Deb!

FYI, Deb sent an email enquiring because she'd seen some of our desert-gal's trail pics, and she said she'd like permission to use some. I suggested the best way to ask would be to join up and ask. :)

Deb, I'd suggest you start a thread asking for desert pics you can use... what, if anything, you'd pay for them, and see. You'll definitely get more views and responses on your own thread, than buried here. :)

Hello everyone! I'm Sweetie Petey :) I have a chestnut Quarter horse who is 15 years old, his name is Petey (hence the name) He is the best horse in the whole world, in my eyes. He loves peppermints and treats, hehe. I show hunter jumper, I trail ride, do mounted games, showmanship, and don't forget horse drill team. I ride with my mom on the Kettle Moraine Rough Riders.. This year I performed drill at the Midwest horse fair! :D I also own a 15 year old Thoroughbred named Buddy, who I jump, but we still have lots of work to do, so I'll be asking many questions. My best friend in real life, Pony Peep, told me about this forum and how everyone is so nice! She is amazing and I love her. :) I even got to hang out with Bay and Derby on the sleigh ride! I'll let the owners of the site tell you about their place.

Other than that, we are a group from all over the US, Canada, and beyond. In my area hunter paces are not popular, but there are some who hunt coyotes with hounds, just like fox hunting, but faster and not limited by season.

Welcome. I hope you look around and join in.

Hey everyone (: I just joined and I thought I'd introduce myself.

My name's Rachel(You can call me iEvent, Eve, Rachel, Rache, Rachie, whatever you want works for me!), I'm a "scene kid" according to stereotypes, I'm very creative and artistic and I'm bipolar. I've also been riding horses for my entire life. I've done western(reining, barrels, gymkhanas, etc), saddleseat, huntseat, hunter/jumper and now I am doing 3-day eventing. I love it! When I started eventing I reluctantly sold my h/j horse, Chronology(Ollie) (http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/156316_174066802618117_100000443963598_488474_1308 652_n.jpg), and bought my current boy, Remember The Name (http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/163765_183926844965446_100000443963598_554137_6823 238_n.jpg) (Remi) (http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/73658_165825580108906_100000443963598_436541_52040 95_n.jpg)! Rem is 18 hands of lovable pony. He and I compete at beginner/novice level and will hopefully be moving up soon(He was injured for almost the entire show season this year, or else we would have already been at novice). I've had Remi for almost two years(October 31st) and he is like, the love of my life (: He is also featured on my signature.

This forum seems very friendly and I'm excited to be part of it :D

I'm insanely in love with horses...but aren't we all. hey there! hello everybody! i haven't got a horse but have alway wanted one (dapple gray) even tho i'm scared half to death of them. i used to ride- sort of. was being taught to jump (was jumping 3' ) but when i went to work polo ponies and was told to use my leg aids and i asked what those were i quit riding. :( then i went to work for an Egyptian Arabian breeding/show barn and REALLY got scared to death! i've only recently gotten back around horses a little bit.

i'm currently owned by two Siamese cats and a Collie and love it. i also LOVE popcorn!!

Welcome. We are so glad to have you and should be able to help you with your fears. It's actually quite common for some horse people to really love horses and want to be around them, but be afraid. I actually started from that point at age 40 myself, but worked through it with time and the help of experienced horse people who understood and wanted to help me.

Hi everyone, my name is Justin Rose, I am 26 years old and grew up on a Quarter Horse farm in north central Ohio. My parents were both reining horse trainers and I have broken colts on farms and ranches in Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Nowadays I am a metal artist but I still love to be around horse people.

My website is JDRMetalArt.Wordpress.com. I build gates and steel horse cutouts for people in the horse industry and I just love the down to earth people I get to spend my time with.

Thanks for making this forum available for us all!

Hey guys.. a few words about myself,.. I'm usually one of those ignorant folks that would browse through the forums, seek out
Necessary information and leave :) Due to some recent events in my life I came to a conclusion and had decided to change
this ugly aspect about myself and begin contributing as well, or may be at least saying thank you once in a while to those that continually contribute here.

Regards,
Oscar

I love horses too, always have and have 3 now, I did have one who was the love of my life but lost him and my husband went and bought 3. I love them but it's not like the love I had for my first boy, I was actually happy just playing with other people's but he thought we should have our own. I LOVE being around them but riding outside an arena scares the life out of me since I got run away with when I was little so I understand your fears. I will take my friend's horses out on the trails and not think twice about it but I am nervous taking my own horse out, she's great on trails I just don't trust her, it's my issue not hers. I did get injured and I can't ride now, I am going to try again soon but probably one of the smaller horses my friend has, [she has over 65 of them] since my girl who I board there is really big, she was my husband's and he lost interest. I enjoyed riding her but with this injury I think it might not be a good thing to try to ride her at this point. Anyway Welcome to the forum, lots of good info here and I love Collies too. I had a Border Collie Mix until I lost him 2 yrs ago, he was such a great dog, never had such a loyal dog. Since I am older now I couldn't carry him if he needed to be carried so when we got another dog we got a little Westie, she is a rescue and has a ton of issues but we love her. I would like to get a Sheltie as a friend for her but she has decided she is queen here and doesn't even like smelling another dog on my clothes so I guess she'll be our only dog child! Welcome to the forum and if you have some pictures of your dog we'd love to see. I am not good at putting pictures up, they won't let me into my photo bucket account and that was the only way I knew how to do it!

Hi to everyone else who is new too!

It is with a very heavy heart I write this. I joined this forum to write about our beloved Liz. Liz had been my coworker & horsey mentor for a long time. It is shocking to me she is gone, and I don't know what to do. I will miss our evening calls on my way home from work, the fun pics she would send about the horses & dogs. But most of all I will miss her, her humor, advice and friendship. We have lost a remarkable woman way too early.

When we met at work in CA she had just arrived to this state. We became great friends, I had my arabian and she had her beloved Buck. She went thru rough times here in CA but always maintained her wicked sense of humor.

I do not have the horse knowledge she had, but I did get the "baby" bug from her. I found a filly I wanted and had Liz evaluate her at which time she said "this filly would be good in my program". We were going to buy her together, I dont remember why the delay so I bought her myself. I remember Liz calling me yelling someone bought our filly, after she finished her rant I whispered "I did". You should have heard her laughing. So now I have a paint too. We were going to breed her to Buck but never did. I have had a rash of accidents/injuries and am now recovering from thyroid surgery - dx - cancer.

My regret is never getting out to MO to see her and all the fur babies. If anyone knows how I can reach sister Annie please let me know. I would like know when and where services will be held.

Thanks to all of for listening to my breaking heart.

I am sorry but welcome to our forum, I hope you find comfort here. Many people from here knew her when we were all at horse.com.

There is a thread about Liz here: RIP Liz Brannick - Broken A Ranch at horse.com - Baywind Farm Horse Forum (http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24108)

Hello! I am new to this forum. I am anxious to learn a lot! My horse just passed away and I feel a great void. He had some major aggression issues. I want to improve as a rider and handler. Eventually, I would like to feel confident and emotionally strong enough to find another horse in the future. It may take some time though.
