Heat of the moment (video- I think you guys will like this one :)

I just finished this video tonight. Most of the footage is from today. I didn't have a whole lot of time so I just took her out for a quick lunging session. She was being so calm that I hopped on her bareback and just walked around and spent some quiet alone time with her. We needed that, and it felt really, really nice.

The weather was beautiful today and warm! Where did my fall temperatures go?:D I actually put on shorts! Ignore my very pale, fatty legs.:doh:

Oh yeah, the pic of me towards the beginning? Totally random- I was bored on day at work because it was a rainy, slow day (I work at my mom's clothing store) so I put Avril Laveigne on and started using the timer on my camera to take pics of myself. I amused myself by striking odd poses and making weird faces. I'm easily entertained. :P

Another thing- the galloping clips... please no criticing those. That is our fun time. Our "go Beauty go as fast as you can" time. We both need that now and then. I don't run her like that all the time and I only let her do it when I give her permission and we're in a safe spot. She's so fast, and it's the only time that her gait is incredibly smooth. It's the feeling of freedom, as close to flying as I'll ever get. It's amazing to feel so much power moving beneath you.


I know I've used this song once before, but I promised that the next video I made would have Classic Rock for the music, and my music downloader isn't working so my options were limited. But I wanted to use it anyway because it's JackieB's birthday and he loves classic Rock, and he said before that he really liked this song.:)

Great video!

I was a freshman in college when that song was a hit. I think I prefer your video to the original by Asia! I used to work out in this little gym off the women's locker room with an Asia cassette tape in a walkman. Some guys found out about our workout room and raised an equal rights stink, and I think they closed it up as a gym rather than made it coed. Too bad--backlash against feminism strikes again! But when I close my eyes and listen to that song, I can visualize that gym way back 26 years ago. I kept them open to watch the video, though--don't worry!

That was an awesome video. I want to thank you so much for thinking of me and my birthday with the song choice. I had a wonderful birthday. And today when I got back from volunteering at the shelter, my wife called out "Happy Birthday!" I kind of looked at her because my birthday was yesterday, but then she said it's my birthday all weekend.:)

A couple of thoughts:

-Beauty was obviously a different horse yesterday than the day before. I definitely don't think you need to be concerned about a chiropracter, at least not yet. I think she was just in a mood, and possibly a bit energetic due to her grain.

-I wish I had old videos of when Buster was like Beauty was two days ago. He and I have had dozens of rides like that. But, I was able to get him to flex his head back and touch his nose to his side every time, so I just calmly did one rein stops, big circles, and so on. If you can get Beauty to be soft and responsible through the head and neck, you'll see a big difference.

-The picture of you in your mom's store was cool. Thanks for sharing that. It's great that you can find ways to entertain yourself alone. That's rare quality and you are fortunate to possess it. You'll never be "needy" for the attention of others, which can be devastating for some people.

Grrrrr on putting yourself down, but it does seem like you do it a bit less now. Please just keep trying. It's so important and honestly, others don't see you that way even one tiny little bit.

Thanks for sharing and thanks again so much for thinking of my birthday with the Asia song. I was a junior in college in 1982 and it was a fantastic year of my life.

And hehe, that's my Oreo goat.:D she is absolutely adorable but doesn't have the best temperement.:innocent: I didn't raise her (most of my goats I bottle fed as babies so they're super friendly) and I don't think her old owners were all that nice to her. She does like my attention, she just doesn't know how to show it so she demands that I pet her by butting her horns into my legs.:rolleyes:

I'm on a mission to get her a different type of feed like we talked about on my other thread. I think I found some so I'll keep you posted on how she likes it and if it makes any difference. Cross your fingers please!:p xD

Hehe, her name was actually "Daisy" when I got her, but I took one look at her coloring and said "oh no. Sorry girlie, but your name has to be Oreo." I think she likes it, she actually seems to answer to it sometimes. And she got a really cute nickname out of the deal- Orie. xD And when I call her- "Orie-orie-orie-Ooooooo!" LOL!:p
