Hubby and I were out moving roundbales today and some of the herd decided to come to the front pasture to visit us and show off. I happened to have the camera on the front seat of the truck so I stood up on the running boards and snapped a few quick pics (Kinda from a bad angle..sorry:(). Wish the horses were a little cleaner, but we just went from a thaw to freeze, yet again..UGH! BOY did they ever have fun!! Beautiful pics! I see you're in Western NY - I've been over that way several times in the winter. Mainly in the Ellicottville/Olean area for skiing at Holiday Valley. It's so gorgeous!! We drove through a couple summers ago and while I'm sure the snow is a pain, it's much prettier in my opinion. :)

Yes, It is a COMPLETE pain, but I guess you get used to it. By the time April rolls around we are SOOOO ready for spring to come...major winter blues let me tell ya!! :)

Yes she is...that's Wichita...:) She's got a few belly spots, four socks and a big blaze, but, otherwise is the least colorful of all of Magic's babies. She's still going to be a looker though. Magic has finger markings on his front and back legs that you can only see when he gets sunbleached and when she was born she was covered in stripes!! Magic has some really cool color genes, so we had NO idea what she was going to end up looking like for a while! LOL!

I'm just curious did you collect from your stallion before you gelded? I know several people that are gelding for much of the same reasons you did but are collecting - one is of rare bloodlines so I do think it's a good idea.

One of the guys at our local horse shows does the games wearing shocking pink on both himself and his horse!!!! I guess he feels good about his manhood! He's a nice guy and I think all of his little girl students have dared him to do the pink thing.

I'm so happy Ghost got a good home, he's so sweet looking.

NY Taxes, one reason why we probably can't move back. It's a shame. My parents have an acre of land in Woodstock and pay more than we do and we have 31 acres the house and barn. It's so beautiful up there though. My parents are getting older and I'm an only child, I would love to live closer [Within 20-30 minutes away] but the prices are rough. I found a really nice house near them but can't have horses there so I got in touch with a boarding stable and they want $525. a month, I can't afford that for 3 horses! Since the HITS shows came to the area the prices have gone even higher. Houses with land are way more than we can afford. They won't move back to PA so I told them pick a different place in NY where we might be able to afford, I'll go as long as there are mountains! My father is stubborn and says he's not moving. OH WELL. I think parts of NY are so pretty but the taxes make everyone jump! We actually get more snow than my parent's. Hard to believe but we'll have a foot and I'll call them and they have a trace or none!

Pats to all of your beautiful horses. Did you ever get a lead on the one you were looking for? I know you mentioned VT, do you have any idea which part? I have a friend in Morrisville if I had a picture I could send it to her and ask if she's seen him.

Now granted, this horse was a stallion when his photo was taken, but I am confident that I can make a case that the Founding Stallions assumed that nobody would dare to put pink on one of them!

But seeing how this is a first offense, and the economy is tough, we're prepared to let you off easy, luckydoublesranch. We'll settle this who unfortunate matter out of court for two 25lb bags of Manna Pro Apple Wafers, 5lbs of molasses-based treats (anything with molasses will do), and 500 gallons of Perrier water in the tank. Just to clarify, this compensation all goes to your horses since they are the ones who suffered.

That's the offer. I highly recommend that you accept and we can just put this unfortunate incident behind us.
