He did it again- first he locks up with the 9 year old gelding and they both look like checkerboards with all the bite marks on them.

Then he decides the driving ponies can't leave without him and he jumps the fence again. He's 19 and arthritic- WTH was he thinking?

The old fart could barely move yesterday and his hocks were popping like corn. Serves him right.

We were driving the ponies through the gate and Sarge started screaming like a banshee.

"Don't even think about it!!!!!" I yelled back. We didn't hear another peep from him.

BOYS!

hahaha... bet he's thinking that wasn't such a good idea with all the pain he feels today! These old guys just crack me up! My old QH back home was always the big dog alpha horse, as he's aged he's settled back in the pack some, but every now and then he decides he's gonna remind them who's boss. Usually he just guards the water trough or the gate and doesn't let anyone near them. But every now and then he tries to show up one of the younger guys (by younger, they're 21 and he's 27) and you can definatly tell the next day, he just barely creeps around!

Wish you had some pics of his antics... those would be cute!

Awww...Sarge is just reminding you that he is there. He wants to play too! He might be getting jealous that you are working with the ponies....LOL

Awww, he's just recalling those glory days like from Bruce Springsteen's song. Any of us who are getting a little older (I'm only 48, but that's not the same as being 18 anymore) understand that feeling well. "I can still do that!" and "Watch this!" We pay the next day, but wouldn't have it any other way. :)

LOL! Sounds just like our old man, Okie. He's in his 20's, every ailment you can think of, no front teeth and still the "Big Bossman" out there! :)

That's funny Lori! He still thinks he's a yougin until the pain kicks in.

I trailered out to White Tanks on Sunday with just Sassy and left our old man Noche home with Rowdy aka "Llama". When we pulled up home he was running around and calling out like a wild black stallion. Once she was next to him eating he stood there too stiff to move!

Our old boys are so silly!! Gotta love em!!
