I got a new headstall for Dallas and tried it on him today, but it just doesn't look right to me.
Can you look and see what seems off to you??? I'm thinking the brow band is too short?

I think it's just the way that it's designed...the throat latch caught my eye at first, other than that, I'm not really sure.

Your browband is too small/short. It's pulling the bridle forward on his face. Is this a draft size bridle? I find that's the biggest problem with these big headed draftX horses, the normal horse bridles fit them, but the browband is always too short!
It's cute though, and I don't think it's too bad that you couldn't use it. It's not in his eye or anything.

I agree, it looks like the browband is too short. It is a pretty headstall and he is a gorgeous horse!

So is there a way to add leather to the brow band?
Darn it....I really liked this headstall. But I don't want him to be uncomfortable in it. Especially after I just got him to where I can ride him without worrying about doing a flying dismount. :cowboy:

Yes, with some ghetto rigging it could be possible! Actually it should be fairly doable with that nice concho to cover up any changes. I'd take it to a local shoe repair place and see if they could just ad a little leather tab out each side, just the width of that concho. Then the concho will cover up the fact that it will probably be two different leathers! Most of these places will do this for cheap, usually under $10!

Take the browband off and see how it fits without it.

Yeah, It's the brow band pulling the cheek piece toward his eye. The other thing that looks off to me is the buckle on the cheek piece is way far up. But, I guess you had to do that to make it hold the bit correctly. All in all I think it's just not a good fit for his head.
Can you take the brow band off and see how it fits with out it? See if it sits in a good spot and looks good on him. It might be a combination of the brow band and the shape/size of the cheek pieces. If it's just the brow band maybe you could change it out with another that fits him.
He is a pretty guy!! I like that saddle on him. I'm not a big fan of the light colored saddles but that looks good on him. :)

It looks like a nice saddle. I like the color on him. I prefer a dark mohogany color, I just love a deep rich mohogany because I think it brings out more of the red in Muffins coat. I was never really in to the light saddles but that ones a nice color and it does look good on him. It looks comfy too, the seat looks like it's newer and has more padding?
My saddle is an old roping saddle so it's lost it's cushy seat. It's a nice saddle just well worn in. lol It needs a padded saddle saver cushion put on it. But, It doesnt matter now...It doesnt fit Muffin so I wont be using it any time soon. I can sit on it on the saddle rack!! LOL!!
Did you try taking off the brow band and seeing how the bridle fits with out it?
You know what I like but I can't find in a size that would fit Muffin? One of those V shaped brow bands. I think there called Futuraty brow bands? Is that right? I like how they come down to a point or have a little raw hide knot on the tip. I think those look neat a give a pretty apearace then just a straigh across brow band. I don't know if they are just used for show or a sertain type of disciplin but I like the look of them :)
Muffins driving bridle has a tear drop peice that comes down the forehead and has a Metal decoration on it. I think it's cute how it hangs on his forehead. I guess I like that look? lol
Edit: Can you tell I forgot to use spell check? Yeah, I'm terrible at spelling and grammer. lol

Move the brow band up a little. That may give more room. Its worth a shot

You can buy a brow band and switch it. It looks like a Weaver bridle to me and I have never liked Weaver. Is that the bit that came with the bridle? I am betting it didn't, that the bridle is designed to be worn with a port or curb bit - ie - traditional western bit, not a snaffle.

Yup, the brow band is holding it to far forward. Love it, just not what the brow band does. Pretty boy!!

Ya know, looking back, I dont like the way the bit rides on that bridle either. Sides are pulled way to high to hold it. Not a good fit all the way around hon. Sorry.

Yeah, I kind of thought the same thing. I'm going to take the browband off and see how it sits. If I drop the sides any more, the bit will hang too far down.
Darn it!!! I really liked the looks of this headstall. Oh well....I can resell it on e-bay!

Yeah, I'm agreeing with everyone else. I'm sorry, it is a pretty bridle and Dallas is looking gorgeous as always. xD

I think the bridle is too tight in general. Can you lengthen the side pieces. Looks like the bit is pulled up too far and the throat latch looks a bit tight. Other than that agree with everyone else-browband is too small for him.

Something looks strange. How about a nose band?
