Does anyone know how to train their horse how to sit/lay down??
I have always wanted to but i have never figured out a succesful way. PLEASE HELP ME!! :D
There is a book called Tricknomotry - its in there. First you teach them to bow, then lay down, then sit-up from there. They build off each other. I highly recommend the book.

one of my friends bought that book so she'd have something to do with her mini's...I think she taught them a few things out of it before she sold them...I looked at the book and it was well written and easy to understand...I've thought about buying it myself to have something fun to do with the girls on the days I don't want to ride, but just want to hang out with them :)

Amazon.com usually has used copies in great condition for sale on there...can get it for half price or less sometimes...I know I'm going to be ordering it myself in the next few months!

I'm still trianing my horse to keep all 4 feet on the ground and you want to teach your horse how to "sit"...LOL
When you do get this accomplished you MUST post pictures. I know it can be done, I've seen it, but this old lady ain't gonna try it......LOL

HAHA!!! i know right?? i have got to do some work on it. but i was watching the Clinton Anderson method: (tell me what u think) You have to put the halter on them. and pull the leadrope to the right with you standing on the left (i know, complicated) the horses head is slightly leaning on the lead rope to the right, of course. Then u pick up the left foot (the side your standing on) and hold it up until the horse finally just gives in and lays/sits down.
Now, Clinton Anderson made this look easy but i really doubt it is. I havent tried it but I sure am thinking about it.
what do yall think about it?
