Look what my son and husband made for me today............................A bobsled for the horse competition!!! YEA!!
This morning when everyone got up, my son and I took off to Home Depot to shop for our materials for the bobsled and black hole.

After two hours in the store, we finally make it home and off to town they went on the bobsled.

Saw was running, hammering, drilling, mixing concrete, pipe, everyone including my little girl was busy making these projects.

We finally finished the bobsled at about 2pm and off to the stable my daughter and I go............................

First one up was my gelding Chip. He mastered it with ease.
We even PULLED it!!!!

Next was sissy Dixie, our mare. This was her very first time with this so we had to take baby steps and then off to the races we went.
Unfortunately, I did not get any pics of our mare, video card was full and I left the camera bag at home. But the good thing is that we got it DONE!!!!

As for the black hole obstacle, we needed a certain part that I could not find at Home Depot so the Hubby went and made something work!
We should have that completed by next week and up.

I took some videos but unable to get them downloaded (uploaded) on youtube or photobucket. Maybe someone can help me figure that one out.

Even my daughter got a chance to push the bobsled with the horses.

Today we even did some jumps with Chip. He's not the best jumper but today he really got the concept jumping over the barrels. I'm so proud of him.

YEA, Son's computer is the champ (mine sucks!!)

LOL Gaited...it will take awhile to load. I always have to get everything ready to load on Youtube then just walk away and wait. Eventually it will tell me it's done.

My family can't stand it when I load a video...it takes me all day.....

This was one of the obstacles in the competition last year. This year we want to be better prepared.

Also, the BO and I spoke about having another trail show at the barn this year and we could use this in it.
I don't think the black hole would be good for the general public. I have it kind of intense like what was at the competition last year.

valley,

It was a blast! Appylover was the one who gave me the idea to pull it. She said that we need heavy items to pull, well, this fit the bill!
This is our second time around one of these things. The first was our competition last year and neither I nor my horse had a clue what to do with it LOL! So I asked my husband if he could make me one for the coming years competition and of course he said yes. It's been 10 months+ but still in enough time for the competition.

This wasn't too hard to make. Total cost out of pocket is about $250.00 as it stands now with the black hole materials included. (all but a few other items needed for the black hole)

That's a cool practice toy. Nice engineering, pushing, pulling.
I still love the commentating your hubby does. Nothing like appropriate sarcasm.

Thank you, I've been thanking him and my son all day yesterday for what a great job they did!:)

As for the sarcasm, that is a daily thing in our household, it helps keep everyone light on their toe:p

I always look forward to your hubby's commentary on your videos :D

The contraption is super cool. Now it needs a seat... and a harness :)

LOL, yea the hubby always has "something" to say LOL!!

When I first purchased my gelding, I did a lot of line driving in hopes of hooking him up to a cart. I had one in line for me to use but she moved away and so did the cart.

I do want to finish him off on driving once I can get the money for the cart.
