Video editing software

I am looking for a free video editing program. I know allot of you have made great videos on here. I use to use Windows Movie Maker, but now that I have Vista it doesn't support it. Anyway I was tired of WMM's crap all the time. I just want a good program that has some effects, and audio options. Thanks!:)

I have yet to find a free program that I like, but I've trialed Corel VideoStudio X2 (http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1175714228541#versionTabview=tab0&tabview=tab0), MediaStudio Pro 8 (http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1175263344628#tabview=tab0), Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 (http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_4.html&lang=en_US), and am currently trialing Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope) and REALLY like it. I think I'm going to buy it. =]
