So, of course....a couple friends of mine have been sick (not sure if it is truly the flu, or something else) and a few people at work have sick kids and a couple people have been sick where I work. So, you might know....today was a gorgeous sunny and warm Saturday here in Wisconsin, may be the last 70 degree weekend we'll see till next Spring...and I spent my day home here sick. Got the chills, sweats, headache, sore throat, upset stomach, feeling dizzy.....blaaaahhhh.... I was looking forward to getting out and working with Koko today, but it just wasn't going to happen. Hoping tomorrow is better. :( And to add insult to injury I've got this painful canker sore on my lower gumline in my mouth, and I never ever get those things (had them once before in my life was all).....so something's up. Dagnabbit! Just had to whine and vent a little!

Oh no, I'm so sorry! And the canker- that's just icing on the cake, I know. Ugh. Those things just p!$$ me off something awful. :(

Here's hoping you get better soon!

No fun! I know what it's like to be sick when you know you're not going to have such a nice day for months.

Maybe you'll feel better tomorrow, and you'll have another nice day. It could be possible- the weather has been really goofy this year. While you're basking in 70 degress, as well as the Cities, less than 300 miles north, we're getting under 50 deg and raining. It's not supposed to let up until Monday.

Trade you weather while you're sick!

Seriously, Renee, I hope you feel better soon- you've had more than your share of illnesses this year!

Oh, I know how that is. I get those things all the time and they take forever to go away! Very painful.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks! I know it.....gosh I am like the Poster Child for Stupid Illnesses this year! lol. I swear my immune system has up and left town (Elvis has left the building!). Earlier this year I got that weird shingles virus in my eye, not once but twice....and a bunch of other stuff over the summer....and now this. Well, I did buy those good vitamins, and I do feel that they are helping because I am not quite as fatigued when I take them. Yeah, I better be feeling good tomorrow....I wanna get out and see my Koko horse!

The weather here is crazy isn't it.....I noticed you had rain up in northern MN, and it was colder up there, it was about 75 here and the sun was out most of the day. All I did was run to the store to get Tums and Tylenol, lol, my fun Saturday.

Thanks Dakota! These canker sores are awful, I had them only one other time, earlier this year, or maybe it was last winter....anyway they got pretty large and bad enough I had trouble eating and even just talking, so my doctor cauterized them with this acid solution...... Hurt reeeeally bad for a couple minutes, but it really did get rid of them after the doc did that!

AWWWWWW!!!! I'm so sorry you are sick!!!!!! I'd send you some virtual chicken noodle soup but it's not nearly as yummy as the real thing!!! Hope you get well soon!! And maybe this nice weather will hang in there for you to hang out with KoKo another day!

Thanks Carla and Equine Woman..... Some soup sure would be good....lol. I may get a strep test done tomorrow if I'm not any better.....to be on the safe side....my throat is starting to get worse and it's all red and ugly looking. How lovely.

That doesn't sound good! I've been lucky enough to hardly know what a sore throat was- I think the last one I got was over 20 years ago- knock on wood! I'm assuming having my tonsils out when I was about 4 or 5 had something to do with it.

Gargle with warm salt water, if you haven't already.. especially if you think it could be strep. Yuck!

It has been a long time since I've had a really bad sore throat too.....I get some scratchy sort of sore throats once in a while, but they are never much....but this one is different, and the glands along my neck are sore too.
So, I guess I better get it checked out if it doesn't get better..... anyway....I am signing off and going to hit the hay......hoping to feel better in the morning!

Aww Remali I'm sorry to hear you are sick. I'm sad to say I have to join ya. Friday afternoon I just got this horrible dry cough and fever, out of the blue! I was perfectly fine and then bam, sick. Now I'm stuffy, achy and still feverish. Haven't been sick in ages and I'm thinking I may have the dang flu with how sudden it came on.

Hope you are feeling better Remali.

Well we can be partners in getting stupid stuff. I hope you will be feeling better. It seems that the things that usually come later in the winter are coming sooner. Intestinal Virus and Bronchitis are going around here. I had the intestinal a few weeks ago, it knocked me flat. I really hope that yours will go away soon, if the sore throat doesn't it's best to get it checked because we also have strepp going on here.

I had shingles all over one side of my head a few yrs ago and now I have a rash all over my head and face, I'm not sure if it's shingles without the pain or what. It's itching and I look a mess. It's miserable being sick in nice weather. Feel better.

I think you do need a strep test done asap. Although keep in mind that any times it will come up neg when you really do have it so be careful.... I hope you feel better and if you are working in an environment with sik people make sure you get not only the flu but also the pneumonia vaccine as well. It seems like you have little or no immunity for some reason. Have you had a complete physical and blood work done? Once yournsurance kicks in make an appt to get it done asap and keep thos goofy vitamins going avery day. I know it sounds stupid but if I miss a day taking those then I feel like crap the next day. I take Quixtar formerly Amway) vitamins and they have kept me from getting every little sickie that comes along. I am just like you in the way that if anyone gets near me that has cold or virus i get it within 24 hours every time and the itamins really do help.

I sure hope you're feeling better today. Caveman has been under the weather for a couple of days. Just when he's getting ready to leave for Durango, of course.

I can also sympathize with you on the cankor sores Renee. I have had them all my life. When I went to the dentist a few weeks ago, he said there is a pill for them. Years ago I probably would have tried them, but now I don't get them nearly as often, but when life is extremely stressful, they like to float around my mouth.

What type of vitamins did you find to take? I need all the help I can get! LOL! I truly hope you get over this quickly and begin feeling much much better, and that your immune system begins to improve.

You're right lisakaye, not just the flu shot but that pneumonia as well. I just get the flu shot each year, but I'm not in the work force.

I am sorry you are feeling under the weather Renee. Yesterday was gorgeous, that is for sure! I am hoping the kids and I avoid colds/flu this winter, but I know that is just wishful thinking. It really drains you! SO stay in bed today (it's yucky outside anyways) and get some rest. :)

Well, I got some sleep last nite, but not a whole lot.....my throat isn't any worse tho, and feels a little better... but I most definitely have the gastrointestinal flu now.....**groan**..... The vitamins I get are Nature's Bounty Green Source, I've tired a lot of different vitamins over the years, but those really make a difference for me. They quit carrying them at the pharmacy I go to, and I called all over and no one had them, so they special ordered them for me. If I still feel bad later on this afternoon I may go in for a strep test anyway, altho right now my throat isn't quite as bad as it was last nite. But I'm not sure if I can make the trip over to Urgent Care right now....need to stay close to home right now if you know what I mean....times like this I sure wish I had family here and someone to drive me.....and wait on me, lol.

Hope you feel better soon too Dixie! And oursarge, aren't shingles awful?! I've had it a few times. My doctor has done quite a few blood tests on me, so far they're normal, but he did say my immune system was really down, so I've been trying to eat better and started those good vitamins again. I think the stress from so many things happening within such a small amount of time really did me in too, just had so many unpleasant things happening all at once, it sort of over-whelmed me maybe, I dunno. Anyway, just going to rest today, and staying close to the biffy.......:(
