I'm doing a trade through tacktrader; my fly sheet for two hoods. Here's what's going on.

We exchanged addresses, and she said she's going to send the hoods the next day and give me a tracking number. Two days later I still hadn't heard from her so I sent her an email asking her if it was still on. No reply for about a week until today she sends me this:

"I just wanted you to know that the hoods were sent Friday morning for $9.80 flat rate prority mail. Did you send the fly sheet, I hadnt heard from you nor have a I gotten a tracking number from you. I will be very mad if you get the hoods and I never get the fly sheet! If I dont hear from you, I will contact Tacktrader if I need to!"

I'm like... ok.... So I told her I hadn't heard from her so I never sent the sheet blah blah blah. Then I asked her if she had a tracking number. Here's her reply:

"I did NOT getting a tracking number because I sent it priority and thats the best way to send it. You should get the hoods Wednesday if not sooner, priority is the fastest. Shipping was $9.80 in a flat priority box. Sent out Friday morning."

Okay... I've sent things priority with a tracking number before. Should I be a little concerned about this situation?

Yeah.. She sounds very rude. I would wait until I got the hoods to send any thing out..

I'd tell her when you get the hoods, you'll send the fly sheet. If she doesn't like it, tough.

She's right that Priority (USPS) Mail does not give a tracking number, but the communication about how it was to be sent and when could have been better.

Not sure why she's expecting you to use more expensive shipping and get a tracking number if she didn't.

You can ask for a tracking number.......when I sent Vickys jacket it was 68 cents for the tracking number......

Yeah, she could have added delivery confirmation for not much more. Hold your fly sheet until you get the hoods. IT won't be long for them to get there if she did send them priority.

Good, glad you got them. Shes still rude, so dont feel ashamed. Just send the item and email her that you did along with a confo number. Works nice that way, so you wont have to talk to her again.

Yeah, she sounded a little b!+chy, but I might could handle the first email, seeing as she may well have been screwed over before with a deal.. the second one, however, she could've calmed down a bit if that were the case, seeing as you're obviously communicating.

Glad all turned out well, anyway. Hope the MIB don't come knocking on your door! :D

She just has bad communication skills. If I were you I would at the very least get delivery confirmation, I think it's less then a dollar. You can ask Patriots about the fiasco we just went through with something I mailed her. The post office lost it for a month or so, so glad I had that tracking number to see where the box was last scanned!

Glad it worked out. She definitely should have paid the extra dollar or so for tracking. What if the Post Office had lost the hoods? She would have had no way to know and would have blamed you. I'd definitely get a tracking number for the sheet going her direction just in case.

That's weird. Did they say why? I've never had them tell me I couldn't get one before.

I always get tracking number when I'm shipping something expensive like a saddle, or I'm shipping to someone who seems likely to play the "you didn't send it I want my money back" game.

I think there are categories of shipping that aren't eligible for the extra tracking service. Something like that. I remember running into that one time and the postmaster said I'd have to upgrade to First Class (I think) if I wanted tracking. But if you start by saying "I want to track this package", they'll fix you right up for sure.
