OK so i went to the doc tuesday and he said if i wanted any more movement out of my right hand( injury from that accident) that i would need another surgery but he could not do it i would have to go to another specialist. keep in mind he is sapposed to be the best hand surgeon in our area( maybe for just what i had before) and we had many references on him. He said nothing more than that. i assumed tendons were locking like before.
My last surgery i had because he pieced my hand back together wrong( chunk of bone with cartilage should have had cartilage facing joint but was turned 90 degrees so it was in the center of my bone, i had some movement after this mistake.)

I went to physical therapy today like normal but happend to have my x rays in the truck still and she wanted to see them so i showed her. keep in mind since the surgery to repair the pieced together wrong bone, i have had little to no movement in my pinky, most movement being maybe 5 degrees, and that puts me in SCREAMING pain.she said" you have got to be kidding me". she wouldnt flat out say( i think to protect herself) that it was the docs fault BUT made it very clear that it was.. I have a NOT NORMAL dislocation( has been this way since my last surgery to fix the bone that was pieced together wrong). She pretty much said its from the doc but didnt flat out say it( like i said i think to protect herself). im attaching a pic of the x ray so you can see.

This is a surgery i will have to have but she said i wouldnt have to get right away, although ill be in pain until its fixed and will cause more damage to the joint until its fixed but she talked like i could wait up to a year. She also said to get this fixed she knows of a very good doc across the river in saint louis at barnes hospital that she would use if she was me. ( basically steered me away from the doc i have used after this.)

Oh, good grief! I'm so sorry! At least you'll have a little time to put it off, even if it will be a bit painful. :( Bless your heart!

I would suggest realigning your phalanges and probably using some sort of support, such as a #3 full wedge pad, dental impression material, and wide web aluminum shoe with lots of heel support.

Get better, listen to your phys. therapist. The therapy is the toughest part. I wonder if these people were the torturers of midevil times in their past lives.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Maybe you should just come up to MN and go to Mayo.

They goofed up during the surgery??!! Not sure if I am reading your post correctly, but if they put your hand back together wrong, I would be consulting an attorney ASAP. Also, you should not have to pay for any further surgery to repair the goof-up the surgeon did (and your insurance should not have to either).

Oh no :( My SO went through that too (he cut his hand basically in half with a skill saw - yucky) After a couple of surgeons we finally found a keeper. He dang near has full use of that hand - fingers and all....

Hoping the best for you :)

:hysterical: This was awesome westmanfarrier LOL

PD - Wow. Sounds like you've had a real go of it with fixing your hand. 2 surgeries so far that are both done wrong?? Yep I agree on on getting with an attorney for sure. You've had to suffer through all the extra pain simply because your surgeon didn't do it right...twice? Wow.

I hope you are able to get it fixed for good so you can be pain free with movement. Many hugs.
